Unconnect Box Error

Got a dealer to finally not just erase the code and say it did not come back on, well until you drive away.. :/

Looks like mine is the sharkfin antenna, with the cellular part dropping out and showing a grounding error

After a year of them telling me to wait for an update, I finally went back in, made yet another appointment (took all day), they diagnosed a bad antenna. After waiting another month for the antenna, took it back (took all day) and they have replaced it. No more "U Connect Box ERROR". This has been a fiasco!

I just got mine repaired for this a few weeks ago. So far so good .
They found a high resistance in my shark fin Antenna and replaced it.
This uconnect error just came back on my truck. It was in the shop for a few weeks with regen issues, picked it up and uconnect error popped up. I wonder what they will find this time.
I did the reset procedure pushing on both knobs until it power cycled, work fine for a few drive cycles, then error came back.

I tried all of the "fixes" power reset, factory reset, RAM cares, dealer evaluation with reset and/or tinkering (3X) with shark fin being replaced on the first time into the dealer, checking for correct system information and registration and especially cussing at the damn thing, nothing was very permanent, or at least lasted more than two days. Looked for fixes with the uConnect system on the Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge forum since I found the uConnect error prevalent with all these different vehicles. Looked for "fixes" on older systems because the error message was on many of all these vehicles, years, and various uConnect systems. Even found that one Government web site mentioned this issue not being resolved by any of these manufacturers, and the fact that they have started to monitor this problem for a possible class action lawsuit that might occur, but they did not mention who is the manufacturer of the actual system software.

NOTHING BUT NOTHING

Then, went on a 3 1/2 hour trip, all with strong cell and satellite signal, turned the truck back on the next day and no error popped up!!!! Felt I should have bought a lottery ticket, but after several on-off cycles and 5 days the error message has not come back!!!!
I will keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best, because it is obvious that who ever actually programed the uConnect system is inept at changing the software to accommodate what ever it is trying to update, register or connect in a manner that doesn't create such a common problem.

Love the truck, but the uConnect system is going to bring the whole mess down if these manufacturers don't start getting better programmers that can make this problem to not be so prevalent for what ever reason!

Kept trying everything known to the Web, some worked for a short time but the infamous error screen and the two red lights keep coming back. When, WHEN are they going to actually fix this issue?

For the moment, my error code has gone away, don't know why, but I haven't seen it in a good while

Don’t hold ypur breath. Replaced antenna and module. Both times they said codes gone stayed gone come pick it up. I never made it out of the parking lot and it came back on. Next visit they are giving me a loaner and opening a star case but say it could take a few weeks as ram takes up to 72hours for every response.

My rig is going in for the third time on the uConnect error without complete repair, I am waiting for the forth time with what I would call a significant problem not fixed by dealer and a GVW of less than 10,000 which means it could very well fall under the lemon law of AZ as well as federal law.

Could you tell us what a “star case” is going to be for you?

I connect error, Showing cellular antenna failure, all parts replaced still same error.

Just bought a 2024 2500 and got the Uconnect message right away. The dealer took two days to determine that it was a cable. It took another few days to get the cable and two more days to finish the job. It appears that they fixed the issue. They did supply me with a free loaner during all of this.

I just picked up the truck this Friday morning and the repair (3X) was to reseat a loose connector. I have had 5 restarts and I am happy to say all systems are go! Haven’t taken it out in back country yet - where most of the reoccurrences happened, but with the connector found loose I hope this fixes the problem for good.
Please wish me luck… I do love this truck and want it to work.

Currently we are at visit 8, 9 months trying to solve the error. So far they have replaced the shark fin 3 times, The wiring harness once, the module once. Currently it has been a week on the 8th visit and STAR is saying still have not found a correction. Seems excessive amount of trouble to locate and resolve for a radio error code. Also to be fair some visits were do to parts being weeks out so the truck was returned while waiting on parts then had to wait for loaner availability to schedule parts install. Usually took 4-5 days before error came back on, but then it was always persistent.
