This is interesting...im giving it a try today to see if it fixes my freeze issues.FIXED!
Ok well I took my own advice above, went to SiriusXM site on my phone. Went to “contact us” then to “fix radio problems by sending a refresh signal” . Went to the truck and while engine running found the radio ID and followed the process. Voila, fixed. If anyone else solves their issue with this sequence I’d love to know. If my issue recurs I’ll post back, but it’s been several restarts and all is still well.
If you have memory seats in your truck, also try setting your radio to anything besides Sirius when you set the seat memory profile. The truck should start up in that mode instead of Sirius. I used USB 1 which is AA for me. This is still working for me.This is interesting...im giving it a try today to see if it fixes my freeze issues.
Ahh...good call. I hadn't thought of that. Will change that also. That is what mine was doing, so I figured it was a software issue. The over the air reset signal fixed it.If you have memory seats in your truck, also try setting your radio to anything besides Sirius when you set the seat memory profile. I bought a brand a new 2021 Ram 2500 a few months ago. This week I was out of state on a trip in unfamiliar territory so I really needed the Navigation system. I started the truck in the morning and the Uconnect screen was black. The whole multimedia display system (12" touchscreen) was off (black screen) and I could not get it to go on. I restarted the engine 4 times, but no luck. Additionally, the heated steering wheel and driver's heated seat turned themselves on to full heat! I had no way to turn these off since the multimedia display system was not working and this is the only way to control these features! I had a 6 hour drive home ahead of me so this was completely unacceptable! I used my phone to find a local Dodge dealer. Drove 45 minutes to the dealer and the display remained off, and the heat remained on, the whole time.
The dealership was not yet open, as it was early morning and this location did not have a service department, but they did have the service location posted on their door. I wrote this down, jumped back into the truck, started the engine, and luckily the multimedia display system now worked.
I hope this issue was not due to an over the air software update. There was no indication of any over the air software update in progress, and I was never asked to allow a software update. It is extremely poor engineering practice to force a software update without the user's consent at the time of the update.
The customer should be able to choose how they will receive a SW update (by going to dealer, or receiving electronically on USB), and/or be able to disable over the air updates.
I called the Uconnect customer support phone number. They stated that there is no Soft Reset procedure available for the 2021 Ram 2500. (I tried all the ones mentioned on this forum and they did not work) Uconnect claims that a SW update is coming, but there is no estimate on when it will be complete.
If the screen goes black again, the customer support agent suggested to let the vehicle sit for 45 minutes! What is RAM/Uconnect smoking?
My 2019 2500 12” Nav just started acting up. It started with “blind spot detection disabled” message in the EVIC every few seconds and continued to constant resetting radio and now I have no control over forward windows, radio, air and the radio is off 50% and then resets and then goes off again, the Nav doesnt know where it is and the compass is off. Took it to the dealership today and there were a lot of CAN bus codes. No progress so far. I have 20.04.19 software and no software issues until now.

Someone else mentioned setting yhr memory on the seats and the identical problem started happening to me “frozen radio Sirius Radio Loading” right after I reprogrammed the seats. I got my truck back from dealer for maintenance and they had moved my seats. I reprogrammed seats and then next time I started the truck the problem started. Hadn’t thought about the coincidence until I saw it mentioned here. I’m going to “reprogram” the seats and hope for the best. This issue had never happened to me until I messed with setting the memory on the seats. Can’t be a coincidence!!!Ahh...good call. I hadn't thought of that. Will change that also. Thanks
