Uconnect 12” not working

Ram truly does NOT care.

FIXED!
Ok well I took my own advice above, went to SiriusXM site on my phone. Went to “contact us” then to “fix radio problems by sending a refresh signal” . Went to the truck and while engine running found the radio ID and followed the process. Voila, fixed. If anyone else solves their issue with this sequence I’d love to know. If my issue recurs I’ll post back, but it’s been several restarts and all is still well.
This is interesting...im giving it a try today to see if it fixes my freeze issues.

If you have memory seats in your truck, also try setting your radio to anything besides Sirius when you set the seat memory profile. The truck should start up in that mode instead of Sirius. I used USB 1 which is AA for me. This is still working for me.

Ahh...good call. I hadn't thought of that. Will change that also. Thanks

That is what mine was doing, so I figured it was a software issue. The over the air reset signal fixed it.

Hi. I just purchased a 2020 Laramie 3500. i have the 12 inch Touchscreen and when I play music through the USB or Bluetooth after about 20 minutes I get low volume and a ton of static. Then when I switch back to FM or Sirius, the sound is perfect. Then I go back to USB or Bluetooth, bam low volume and static. It sucks. I will be taking it back to the dealer.

2020 Laramie Longhorn. Still having the issue of siriusxm locking up radio. Tried all the fixes and nothing. Its been to the dealer and they say its fixed but continues to happen. 3 months later after dealer said ordering a new radio still nothing. 3 calls and 8 voicemails with no return call.
15k miles and a radio that hasnt worked correctly yet! @RamCares

My radio worked fine until this last weekend, then I started getting the "SiriusXm Loading Please Wait", and couldn't change to any other source.
Parked and came back a half hour later and it worked.
Parked for a couple hours, got back in and it was stuck on Channel 1. Couldn't change the volume, station , source AND COULDN'T TURN IT OFF. Hit the power button and the screen goes blank but still get the Channel 1 advertisement.
Got in this morning, and was back to be ing stuck on "SiriusXm Loading Please Wait".
Anyone have a fix/wor-around for this?

Well. Took my new truck to the dealer and they worked on it for 3 days. Ram is going to send out a replacement radio head (12 inch) do it not working on Blue Tooth or via USB,. Said it will take 14 days to receive the new on.

I bought a brand a new 2021 Ram 2500 a few months ago. This week I was out of state on a trip in unfamiliar territory so I really needed the Navigation system. I started the truck in the morning and the Uconnect screen was black. The whole multimedia display system (12" touchscreen) was off (black screen) and I could not get it to go on. I restarted the engine 4 times, but no luck. Additionally, the heated steering wheel and driver's heated seat turned themselves on to full heat! I had no way to turn these off since the multimedia display system was not working and this is the only way to control these features! I had a 6 hour drive home ahead of me so this was completely unacceptable! I used my phone to find a local Dodge dealer. Drove 45 minutes to the dealer and the display remained off, and the heat remained on, the whole time.
The dealership was not yet open, as it was early morning and this location did not have a service department, but they did have the service location posted on their door. I wrote this down, jumped back into the truck, started the engine, and luckily the multimedia display system now worked.
I hope this issue was not due to an over the air software update. There was no indication of any over the air software update in progress, and I was never asked to allow a software update. It is extremely poor engineering practice to force a software update without the user's consent at the time of the update.
The customer should be able to choose how they will receive a SW update (by going to dealer, or receiving electronically on USB), and/or be able to disable over the air updates.
I called the Uconnect customer support phone number. They stated that there is no Soft Reset procedure available for the 2021 Ram 2500. (I tried all the ones mentioned on this forum and they did not work) Uconnect claims that a SW update is coming, but there is no estimate on when it will be complete.
If the screen goes black again, the customer support agent suggested to let the vehicle sit for 45 minutes! What is RAM/Uconnect smoking?

Did you try this?

On my vehicle for this step: "Open the VEHICLE app --> scroll to SETTINGS --> scroll to RESET, then....."
there is no Soft Reset option, nor Factory Reset option. (But in the issue that I had with a dead screen, there is no way to open the Vehicle App.)

This method did not work on my 2021 2500: Press and hold the "power button/knob" in for 10 seconds or more

My 2019 2500 12” Nav just started acting up. It started with “blind spot detection disabled” message in the EVIC every few seconds and continued to constant resetting radio and now I have no control over forward windows, radio, air and the radio is off 50% and then resets and then goes off again, the Nav doesnt know where it is and the compass is off. Took it to the dealership today and there were a lot of CAN bus codes. No progress so far. I have 20.04.19 software and no software issues until now.

So after this was fixed under warranty once it came back this week. Took it back in and they said it was a chaffed wire under the driver’s seat. Even though this has been an intermittent problem since 5k miles, and fixed under warranty once they are now denying my warranty claim and want $700 to fix the wire. I suspect it was an assembly error at the plant. I have pictures hoping @RamCares can help me out. I love my 2500, but man lots of little problems for an expensive new truck. And denying a second warranty claim on the same issue at 25k just doesn’t seem right.

Add me to the list of it locking up and showing sirius loading. I've read through all the posts and it doesn't seem like there is a solid fix yet. @RamCares any update on this ongoing issue?

Someone else mentioned setting yhr memory on the seats and the identical problem started happening to me “frozen radio Sirius Radio Loading” right after I reprogrammed the seats. I got my truck back from dealer for maintenance and they had moved my seats. I reprogrammed seats and then next time I started the truck the problem started. Hadn’t thought about the coincidence until I saw it mentioned here. I’m going to “reprogram” the seats and hope for the best. This issue had never happened to me until I messed with setting the memory on the seats. Can’t be a coincidence!!!
