Interesting that it says it supports "box trailers up to 53' length". I wonder if there will be restrictions on 5W and GN similar to the tag cross stuff.
Nice. That's at least a good "new" capability. Not the same thing as BSM for the trailers. That's a limitation of the radars being blocked.
The 53' limit for the surround camera would be for any box or 5th trailer and would be an issue of the capability of the image stitching software and/or cables included.
53’ is max legal single trailer length in most places....Interesting that it says it supports "box trailers up to 53' length". I wonder if there will be restrictions on 5W and GN similar to the tag cross stuff.
I was talking about the "Box Trailer" part. Not the length.53’ is max legal single trailer length in most places....
The cables are about 65' total length (20m for y'all way north) and you have to centrally located the module on the trailer to reach all 4 camera locations - front, rear, left and right. Not the same thing as BSM for the trailers. That's a limitation of the radars being blocked.

Agreed. Maybe UC5 will take advantage of the full screen and hide distracting overlays. Would be really nice full screen on the 12”.That's novel but I'd probably only use the backup cam. I don't trust my 360 overhead as it is. Maybe if you could make the overhead full screen. It's like looking at a small cellphone screen when looking at it on the 8.4, with that giant "SURROUND VIEW / REAR VIEW" header (BTW, thanks, couldn't figure that out) and the rear view crammed next to it.
I kind of agree on this. I appreciate the 360 cam on the RAMs but I also have 360 cam on my wife’s 2015 Discovery Sport. Land Rover took the camera game seriously even back then. Today, LR’s cams are tech from aliens. That's novel but I'd probably only use the backup cam. I don't trust my 360 overhead as it is. Maybe if you could make the overhead full screen. I was originally planning on custom ordering my Power Wagon, and I was not planning to order it with the “towing technology package” (360 camera, mirror mounted aux lights, and blind spot monitor).I used my Power Wagon’s cameras often, especially when off roading and towing but yes, the cameras could be even better if they chose to do so.
