TPMS (TIS) sensors for trailer (SOLVED - see 1st post) aka TTPMS - Trailer TPMS

I am placing the order for all the parts required and one is throwing a warning that it doesn't fit my truck....

Wireless Control Module Receiver - Mopar (68375990AC)

Says it only fits the 1500, and I am thinking this isn't an issue but would like to confirm this is still a good part #.
I got the same warning. Not a problem.

I order all the parts then installed them. I actually had the dealer add the sales code for me.

I then ordered AlphaOBD later for some other things.

The dealer doesn't really care about what you add with Alpha.

IF they had to reflash the BCM, you would lose anything not on the VIN. If they flashed the radio, you might lose the CSM buttons for a bit.

Thank you for the reply back.

Thank you.

Is it safe to assume the AlphaOBD will store any changes you made, for an easy reinstall?

Does anyone know if the connector at the bumper for the TPMS module "clicks" when connected? I haven't met a connector on these trucks yet that doesn't "click" when secure. Mine pulls off easily with no release of a tab or anything. I am just trying to narrow down why I cant get this damn thing to pair with the sensors. It seems the connector wont go on far enough to catch the clip on the module,

It should at least "catch". Look in both ends, make sure a pin isn't bent over/smashed. I've seen that happen on aircraft connectors, rarely on auto. Also check for debris/etc in the male and female ends.

Also, if you don't want to tow your trailer around to wake up the sensors, you don't have to, but you definitely need to air the trailer tires up, and then patiently let air out until the truck "honks" to confirm the sensor sent out a signal. The sensors don't 'pair' with the truck, as far as I can tell, like Bluetooth devices do. They just send out a signal of "This is my serial number, this is my pressure". Of course, there's a guy named Jimmy on here, who knows WAAAY more about it than me.

When I did the TTPMS, I paired everything about 10 minutes after the sensors were installed in the wheels... so they had been active for a bit. Good luck!

Can we see pics of the ends showing the pins and the socket?

I had these sensors paires with 2021, then I got my 2022 and they won't pair. I have done the pairing process about 10 Times now all together.

The pins inside the module are fine, maybe it's bad? I added the TTPMS to the 2022 since the dealership didn't order it on this truck.
I had Discount Tire try to read the sensors on the trailer and they couldn't read them....so I bought new arms but they couldn't read those either....
The scan tool they use asks for the vehicle make and year so maybe it can't read these sensors for some reason. I. Not sure if the trailer sensors are different from the HD trucks...

I think on my 2021 the pairing process took all of 15 minutes.

That is so weird. I doubt they got new sensors for the system, the manufacturer on them is Schrader. You could contact them and see if there's a difference year to year. https://www.schradertpms.com/en

Well, maybe it's Schrader...but I bet they have a geek/engineer who might be able to tell you more. they sold me some shorter stems for the TTPMS sensors.. way better than the OE ones.

I seem to recall mine required some extra effort. In the location it's at, there's possible a tighter seal.

If you're sure the pins are OK, put on your big boy pants and push it harder.

Well,

The Pins are good - believe me I have pushed with big boy effort!

Ok,

So the module in the first post f this thread lists the bumber module as:

68375990AC

That only gives me the years 2021 and for 1500s and 2500s.

A guy with a 2022 gave me his VIN and the bumper module part came back as:

68526635AB

I am thinking they changed something on these modules.

Interesting. I wonder if they change any other parts in the system then? Because, there was 3 items - bumper, headliner, and jumper, right?

The TIM part number at the back of roof of teh cab was the same - so I am guessing the jumper is as well.

I ordered the new part number so I will see if it makes a difference. Worst case I ll have a module and some extra tire sensors to sell.

I am wondering if the part difference is because the Uconnect 5 - if I am reading the up fitter instructions right the radio sends out the paring signal. So I am thinking this module I have cant pick it up?

Just spitballing.

@TW720HVY

Did you order that part yet - if not see my posts above.

I called Schrader- they do make them. The trailer sensors have NOT changed.
