Too much oil and poor dealer help

Probably a bad batch. This is also the issue with running rail pressures so high to meet emissions standards. I would assume all this is covered under the 100k engine warranty?

It should be, I am $1500 out of pocket now getting there. All should be refunded and hopefully they don't fight me on it.

id almost be ready to trade that thing in once this is all done just cause id feel that all that diluted oil washed the bearings.

His engine is already making a racket, at this point minimum cam lifters, probably more. Sounds like the dealer is getting their act together on it but if not it’s only a matter of time before a bearing spins and causes catastrophic failure.

UPDATE!

Looks like they are trying to locate fuel leak and possibly motor replacement if there is one? And we continue to wait.

At least they have a direction to go in. What boggles my mind is the lack of engines for replacement if necessary which we all know, is at this point.

Very happy to see that they are trying to get to a resolution on this. One thing, and this is a pet peeve of mine... Its a Cummins engine, not a "cummings"! Drives me insane every time I hear that, especially when it comes from "technicians".

well this one can be both its shooting clear fluid where it shouldn't:eek:...

UPDATE!

the high pressure test that STAR had the dealer run showed no leaks at the HPFP....... they are pulling injectors now and going to send them out for testing.... another week here we go!
Did they give you a loaner at least?

Well, perhaps if you just simply started driving it correctly within the very narrow, but unstated and non-advertised parameters that you must now accept without question or you will be labeled a dolt it will function correctly.

100% and use the correct diesel as well.. have you heard anything on yours yet?

I dropped it off this morning and they will remove and inspect the hp fuel pump tomorrow. The mechanic who's working on it has long suspected the fuel pump or injectors, but has had to play the STAR game of chasing butterflies, boost tubes, unicorns and MAFS. Either that or I am too lame to operate a modern diesel pickup and should consider moving to a gas rig.

Lol well I guess we don't drive Wednesday through Friday? Been doing it all wrong. Hopefully these cases change what STAR thinks for future trucks.
