TomTom Nav woes

I'm sure this isn't an isolated incident, but is there an easy/reliable fix for the TomTom nav not updating/working? It won't display compass or do nav things. I plan on using android auto for actual navigation, but having the compass is always handy.

@RamCares I did some digging, and is it correct that if I don't PAY for the navigation that came with my truck, that I can't get that nor the compass to work?

No subscription required for those items to work.

Update: I called @RamCares, and started a 'ticket' with them right before Thanksgiving. I rebooted the headunit a few times and the nav/compass started working again (I figured they pushed out an update of some sort, perhaps not). However, it's now back to not working, showing the 2 dashed lines for the compass on the cluster. Has anyone had any luck with getting a software/firmware update. I'd really rather NOT have to get the whole headunit swapped out for this to work.......

I am having the same issue on my 26 ram 2500. Did you find a solution?

The problem still persists, however it's not consistent enough to have the dealer take a look. It'll work for several weeks and then not. I had an appt scheduled a couple months back but right before hand it started working (tracking the truck). So, for now, it's an annoyance that hasn't been fixed. As of now, it worked last week, but didn't yesterday.

I'm curious. Have you tried setting one of the areas on the instrument cluster to compass?


Also, the soft keys on my center display has a Nav button that shows the direction I'm going. Is that what is showing the dashed line when yours doesn't work?
