Terrible Towing pics thread

I don't regret any of the trucks I've owned. Even had a Dakota once that was great at getting into places for hunting/fishing that my HDs wouldn't fit into, although the jeeps were better, but then I had a bigger bed on the Dakota that was useful, too.
Ya a had a 318 Dakota …used it as a 3/4 ton …porebasterd. Once pulled 15000lbs up a two mile hill . Not one of my brightest ideas. Although when she was working it didn’t seem to spark knock as bad.

Serious question: the cost of an eco-diesel is almost the same as a base model 2500. So what's the draw for these things? I see tons of them on the roads but just don't understand who pays that much for a diesel half ton?
I moved back to work in Alberta from working overseas, needed a truck to get my butt from A to B and it had to be a truck for hauling my toolbox and things. Wanted a diesel so I looked long and hard at Eco Diesel for its fuel efficiency but people were/are asking retarded money for them, plus the bottom end bearings stories scared me away, which is probably the main reason I didn't get one. Ended up buying another HD truck, a 2500 in this case as I don't tow or haul heavy with it.

Mine was a good truck, 2nd gen. Biggest issue I had with it was the rust coming through the body panels. It ran great, that 4.7L with HO. I did tow some stuff with it, but usually used a 1500 or better. It got better mileage than the bigger trucks so I used it a lot. Which means I'd be somewhere unplanned, and I'd end up hauling a lot more than I should have on it to get home, rather than go home and get a bigger truck. It did way more than it was designed for.

I haven’t pulled one of these before, but I don’t think this is how you do it

Thats actually pretty normal if its a tilt and load trailer so it can be offloaded easy and they don’t weigh enough if empty to be an issue towing it like this.
