It is! Is there a way to turn that setting off? It should at least be optionalThats unfortunate if you ever haul with the tailgate down

Yup, that would probably work. However I was not prepared to engineer and install what you are suggesting since the Intelagate was a five minute install and I am getting too old to run wires from the back of the truck to the front.Just thinking. A magnetic switch, a little wire and an idiot light in the cab would do the trick.
I have also seen that a restraining cable on the tailgate could be used to keep it from dropping completely
Just a thought but something I may do just because. I’m old also but can lay on the ground pretty easy. I may fall asleep though because I’m 70 yo and need naps..Yup, that would probably work. Done it. Got to the campground, dropped the tailgate to get some crap outta the back, then went to back the trailer into the spot and didn't put the gate back up. Ooops. Crunched it pretty good. I did my best to straighten out the damage but I sold the truck with a wrinkled tailgate. Kinda like launching the boat and forgetting to put the drain plug back in, I hope leaving the tailgate down is a mistake I only make once. Then I remembered the day I took off and made some corners with my tail gate down and **** fell out and the stinger on the trailer bent the tail gate![]()
Glad I am not the only knuckleheadThere is a channel on You Tube called the Drain Plug Mafia. Nothing like watching boat launch fails.
I have never done that as I make it routine to install it as I unstrap the back and take the transom saver off.Glad I am not the only knuckleheadThere is a channel on You Tube called the Drain Plug Mafia. Nothing like watching boat launch fails.
I have to pull out my coworkers 30ft house boat every year as the weight will lift his f150 back end off the ground and his 4wd hardly ever works lol at least he knows more than enough not to try it!..My personal favorite, is using a little car or a 2wd truck to launch a boat, better yet the guy with the 4x4 that does not know how to engage 4x4.Haulover is just insane.
