A bit of back story.....
Local tire shop matched Amazon's price on Faulken A/T3W in 285/75r18 for $232 each, so I pulled the trigger.
During the install on the stock 18" aluminum rims, the worker pried the factory plastic center caps out......rather than push out from he back side.
This broke a center cap, and mangled the hub area of the factory rims......gouged way into the metal.
The manager was on it and immediately said I could have 4 new OEM rims......yes, the guy mangled all 4 rims.....or any aftermarket wheels I want.
So, been researching a bit.
My truck is a 2019 3500 SRW HO Laramie with factory rear air bags.
I use the truck to haul fairly often to right at the max payload of 4000lbs.....maybe at times a bit over. I also tow a 39' 5th wheel with pin weight ranging 2800-3200lbs depending on the trip.
So, first, stay with the factory forged wheels for strength? Most aftermarket seem to be cast and top out at 3700lbs capacity each....???
I don't want the BroDozer look, but would not mind the tires to be a bit closer to the factory flares, not quite as tucked in.
If I go aftermarket.....I am looking at 18X9 +18 offset. My understanding is that should get the tires flush with the factory flairs.....move wheel out between 1-2", and I should still have no issue with rubbing with 285/75r18 tires....
I am looking at some Method wheels I like the look of. I want something with a good finish.....that will last. I keep trucks 10+ years.....
All that said....thoughts?
Other highly rated wheel brands? Method seems well reviewed and their customer support seems good.
Thanks guys!
