Probably because what the alfaOBD developer and I suspected is true. Remote tailgate release exists in the rf hub no matter what. It just needs the fob with the button for it to recognize the command.Good news. They were able to program fob and gate release works. He said he don't know why or how

AlfaOBD can’t program a fob on the 2019+ HD’s. The rf hub needs a live connection to dealer connect.Went to the dealer today. That dealer will not program a key they did not sell, local policy.
So I got the pin code from the parts guy. I guess I still need to hookup the bypass cable to perform the fob programming and the remote start activation. Maybe I'll have time this afternoon.

Take the truck for a drive. Shut it down and let it sit for about 15 minutes, then try remote starting.Ok guys. So I connected with bypass and alfaobd.. I was able to change the remote start to present . Now when I press the button twice it will beep but not start. What am I missing?
Yes sir. Do I need to enable the hood latch? I seen it in a video on youtubeTake the truck for a drive. Shut it down and let it sit for about 15 minutes, then try remote starting.

All worked perfectly. Thanks to Jimmy. Do you have AlfaOBD? If Yes don't bother to ask your dealer to activate the remote starter. Unless your dealer is honest and friendly. My dealer keep asking me where did i buy the remote kit from and who install it for me. Gate assistance as per post above will work once the fob is programmed. To program the FOB dealer charged me $75 they want another $75 per each sales code added. So i told them to just program the FOB and used alfaobd to activate the starter. Anyway it cost me about $150 with fob , hood latch , wiring and pins to add the remote starter.Sure hope this works out for you kristof as I am just waiting for all of my parts to come in and will be tackling this mod very soon. Thank you for being the guinne pig.

Not that I've noticed on my 2500. I usually remote start it and then immediately unlock to get in.Weird situation today and kind of scary too. I was leaving work and while I was walking towards my car I remote started. Arrived next to it and it won't unlock. I tried the lock and unlock and nothing. After 30-45 seconds it finally unlocked. Is there a time from when I start the car to when I can unlock it?

Maybe it's the fob. I have not switch the emergency key yet so I start to freak out. It glad it unlock but as soon as I got home I switched the uncut key for original one. Brand new battery in it so it's should last for a whileNot that I've noticed on my 2500. I usually remote start it and then immediately unlock to get in.
Did you change it in AlfaOBD?Mine has done that once and yeah it was a little unsettling. I use it several times a week since then and no problems. Mine is set to run for 30 minutes so I guess worst case would be I have to wait a half hour to open the truck.
Yes I think the default was set to a 15 min run time but occasionally it takes me forever to get out of the shop or office so 30 minutes works better for me. However, I do make an effort to not let it just sit idle as much as possible.Did you change it in AlfaOBD?
Sounds good. I will leave it set to 15 minutes.
