What are yall using for receiver pin locks? I've been through 3 of them and they all bend to hell. A TowWorks, Rhino and this bROK Warrior.

This thing has 1 trip on it pulling my travel trailer.

I had the same problem until I purchased a Bolt locking receiver hitch pin. I've been using mine since 2017 - first in a 3" receiver and now in my 2.5" receiver.

I am looking at the Paclock UCS-80S-250 for my next lock, but hopeful to catch it on sale sometime. Can be custom keyed to match other locks if you order others as well.

ah sorry to hear that. unfortunately most any can be picked loose or snapped off with the right set of tools.

We all know that locks keep honest people honest. If you've ever watch the LockPickingLawyer on youtube you'd know that any lock can be picked, quickly.

I just want a pin that won't bend. My travel trailer isn't even all that heavy at 8000#.

Any stainless pins will bend and most locking ones are stainless. And to be fair 99% of locking pins can be easily snapped and removed with a piece of round tubing slid over the lock

A toddler could be taught to pick these though lol. Wish I had seen this before I wasted the money on them.

like said a few times.. they're all just deterrents. and a lock to pick is better than no lock.

I'd say that with over 300,000 miles and 7 years of use, mine is not likely to bend.
I've pulled a 32 foot cabin cruiser, hundreds of campers and a few beach cottages.

I had the head of a Bolt lock fall off on the freeway. The only reason the hitch stayed in was pressure from the WDH. Did some searching around and found a number of reports of the same thing happening.

I know it was locked on as my checklist for pulling out of camp had both myself and my wife checking the pin.

I use an Anderson pin now. I’m not a big fan of the company, but the locking in seems secure enough.

I always give mine a good tug. More than a few times I thought it was locked but was able to pull it off. I figure it’s due to the rubber seal on the lock.
Thought it was just me, though, didn’t know it’s a problem.

Take a regular pin and drill out the hole slightly larger and buy a small/strong padlock.

Yes. This happened to me twice on washboard gravel road. First time it stayed in place and I thought it was my fault. So going forward I was very careful to make sure it was all correct before taking off. It happened again a year later, also on a gravel road. This time it came out and the TT was hanging on the safety chains and just barely catching the gravel road. Fortunately I was going about 5mph at the time and no damage but still what a shock!! I also found many reports of the head popping off the Bolt locks.

I have been using the following one since then, about 2 years. No issues with it. Still straight after many tows. I like the cotter pin safety feature having been scarred for life by the Bolt. https://www.amazon.com/TowWorks-79831-Trailer-Receivers-Adjustable/dp/B0978V7JJC

I am less worried about the lock being picked or cut off then I am about it just staying in place on rough road.

That is what I thought happened to me the first time. So I always did like you and more after that. Still lost it again about a year later.

What is causing these pins to bend?

I’ve had the same stainless steel pin on three different trucks since around 2010 without it bending. It’s not a locking pin though.

For this Ram I got a cushioned shank ball mount, but it has been solid mounted otherwise.

Likely slack in the holes on the receiver, hitch, and/or pin would be my guess.
