These are horrible. They are super easy to pick. Had my B&W stolen while using these.
Any stainless pins will bend and most locking ones are stainless. And to be fair 99% of locking pins can be easily snapped and removed with a piece of round tubing slid over the lockWe all know that locks keep honest people honest. If you've ever watch the LockPickingLawyer on youtube you'd know that any lock can be picked, quickly.
I just want a pin that won't bend. My travel trailer isn't even all that heavy at 8000#.
A toddler could be taught to pick these though lol. Wish I had seen this before I wasted the money on them.ah sorry to hear that. unfortunately most any can be picked loose or snapped off with the right set of tools.
Exactly i have a Reese because it was on the shelf and i had no 3” long pin it will work good enough lollike said a few times.. they're all just deterrents. and a lock to pick is better than no lock.
I had the head of a Bolt lock fall off on the freeway. The only reason the hitch stayed in was pressure from the WDH. Did some searching around and found a number of reports of the same thing happening.I had the same problem until I purchased a Bolt locking receiver hitch pin. I've been using mine since 2017 - first in a 3" receiver and now in my 2.5" receiver.

I know it was locked on as my checklist for pulling out of camp had both myself and my wife checking the pin.
I use an Anderson pin now. I’m not a big fan of the company, but the locking in seems secure enough.

That is what I thought happened to me the first time. So I always did like you and more after that. Still lost it again about a year later.I always give mine a good tug. More than a few times I thought it was locked but was able to pull it off. I figure it’s due to the rubber seal on the lock.
Thought it was just me, though, didn’t know it’s a problem.
Likely slack in the holes on the receiver, hitch, and/or pin would be my guess. What is causing these pins to bend?
I’ve had the same stainless steel pin on three different trucks since around 2010 without it bending. It’s not a locking pin though.
For this Ram I got a cushioned shank ball mount, but it has been solid mounted otherwise.
