Recall Manufacturer Safety recall issued 2019-2020 D TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY

I went by my dealer Saturday the 29th and asked if they were aware of recall and if they had parts? The service advisor was aware we walked over to the parts department to inquire as to the availability of parts. The parts department advised they had the parts in stock. Service scheduled for me to drop the truck off on Monday the 2nd at 5 pm and provided a courtesy vehicle. Today I received a call around 3 pm and was told my truck is ready. I picked it up around 5pm. It is only a couple of miles to my house from the dealer. I am not sure if its in my head or real but trans did not seem to shift as firm and exhaust break seemed weaker. I will have a better gauge tomorrow as my daily drive is about 45 mins to and from work.

My dealer tried to order my parts on 3/2. They just informed me that FCA cancelled the order and the parts won’t be available until December of 2021. This is beyond ridiculous.

That’s totally out of line! My dealer got my part this week and are installing it on March 9th. Mine requires the part and a pan gasket. Was told the part is $1.45 and the gasket is $4. He told me the parts depots have several available and has no idea why orders are being kicked out! Someone higher up needs to get FCA in line and release these parts!!!!!!!!

FYI for timing: Scheduled service here in Ontario, California at my local dealer and I was quoted several days for repair. In all fairness this dealer is always busy, and Southern California is a pretty heavily populated area.

I live in Portland Oregon area. I got a notice from FCA which informed me of the problem and the recal in general over this weekend.

I called 2 local dealers, both said it could be a year or more untill they are able to get parts and make the fix. They said don't worry we will call you or you will get a letter from FCA that it is ready for the fix. I could not believe this!!!!???? Same story from both.

Recall notice basically says be extra carefull and go slow when using your HD truck, use it more like a 1/2ton or it could catch on fire. NOT COOL!!! THIS IS WHY I UPGRADED FROM A 1/2 TON TO RAM CTD.
 
Got my truck in yesterday. Call fca directly. The parts department wasn’t working with the service department and they didn’t realize they had the right parts. Tell the fca rep to call the dealer directly to get it fixed. My service guy also tried calling and telling me he didn’t have the parts after fca had called the dealer directly. I told him what fca had told me and he talked to his parts department and they had the parts. It’s a mess.

I live in Vancouver, WA. I called my dealership two weeks ago, and they said they had to order parts, and they’d get back to me. They never did, so I called today and was told the parts could be a month out. They said if I don’t hear from them in 4 weeks to call back... I went from a 1500 to a 3500. A year or more is really ridiculous. My 2019 also has the clicking sound coming from the belt or pulley system.... I love my truck, and hope they work the problems out. I want to keep this truck for a while...
 
Yikes, I guess I was lucky even with my delays. I called 3/3 and scheduled an appointment with my dealer 3/5. They took the truck in, gave me a gas job loaner and when I called later that day to they admitted it would be longer as they goofed and didn't order one of the parts. I kept the loaner another day and it was done. Total time from call to post-recall truck was one working week.

The thing I am curious about it is has been a few days since that fix and https://www.mopar.com/en-us/my-vehicle/recalls/search.html is still showing the open recalls. I know they did the work, the pan was down! How long does it take for that to update?
 
I live in south Arkansas and have talked to several dealers within 100 miles. Every one of them told me the parts would not be available until December 2020. Why issue a recall if there are no parts to fix the problem. Love my truck but am very disappointed in Ram.
 
Very puzzling how some dealers are able to perform the recall work with no issues, yet others are saying they won't have parts until the end of this year. Makes no sense.

@RamCares I have been waiting 2 weeks now and wasted a day of work and had to pay for 2 Lyft rides because of this. Why would the dealer let me bring it in for a recall and then tell me they don’t have the parts? Then tell me it will only be a week for parts (going on 2 weeks)? Seems like they are selling the new HD’s no problem so why do unsold vehicles get priority over my safety?
