Re-Ordered My 2020 Ram 3500 HO Laramie Longhorn

Appreciate the quick response, I've been following your thread since it started.

I have both VONs and VINs, opening up a case at the link you sent is what I've done so far but they couldn't promise anything. Was opening the case or PMing RamCares on here more helpful for you?

I really believe @RamCares on here did an excellent job for me, however I think the phone call to them and the PMing them here might end up at the same place. I don't know how to answer that question as my problem was unique and in depth.

No worries, that's the answer I was looking for. Thanks again!

Does max tow package still include an aluminum finned cover on rear end. Also, if you forego max tow and just opt for 4:10 gear, does the cover change(if still offered)?

No finned cover on the new 12" diff.

That is a good question, I think they dropped that when Ram Upgraded the Rear End/Differential and Axle a couple of years ago. Everything on my order sheet is included with the Max Tow Package, Except for the Air Suspension which I didn't want.

Update : D1 Status

I received this attached updated (POC) in an email earlier today from my dealer:

Truck Ordered: 3-6-2020
Got VIN# 3-11-2020
D1 Status 3-11=2020 Gateline: Plant has sequenced the unit for production, Estimated shop date assigned.
Estimated Ship Date: 03-18-2020

Does this say it will be built in only 7 days now? WOW!

D1 got VIN 3-11-2020 A.png

XG9, XFQ and NFC... very nice! Did they white out some of the vin/von and FFP/EP/HB/MSRP/Invoice or did you ;)

Thank You Very Much !

Yes, I did. I just didn't want the VIN & VON numbers along with Dealer Info floating around on the web. As far a pricing it was on page 2 and I just didn't post that page this time. However, they are listed on post #1

Update:

I just got off the Chat with Maurice at RamCares to get a status code update on my vehicle. Here is what she informed me.. I guess they have new procedures now as they are no longer using Status Codes anymore she said. I guess they have also deleted the estimated Ship Date 3-18-2020 out of the system as well as my last POC listed on an earlier does indeed have an estimated ship date ? ? ?

"Maurice (3/13/2020, 7:02:13 PM): Thank you for your patience as I have found your vehicle. At this time there is not an ETA on your vehicle. I have found a status under your vehicle at this time your status is as following: All of the materials needed to start the build process have been received. The vehicle should be entering the build process very soon. Please be advised you can be in this status up to 30 days I would advise checking back next week to see if an update has been made.
Maurice (3/13/2020, 7:02:21 PM): Congratulations again on the purchase!!!!!!!!!!

Me (3/13/2020, 7:03:28 PM): Dealer gave a copy of the POC and it states Estimated Ship Date: 2020-03-18 1:59 AM
Me (3/13/2020, 7:04:25 PM): Is there a status code to this stage you mentioned

Maurice (3/13/2020, 7:04:45 PM): That is a great question! We unfortunately do not see status codes very much anymore we only see the description of the stage the vehicle is in. This is the final stage before we actually start building the vehicle, so it will not be long before the production process begins.
Me (3/13/2020, 7:06:08 PM): That must be something new? the last order about 30 days ago, I was given status codes Like D1 Etc.
Maurice (3/13/2020, 7:06:28 PM): Yes that is correct this was recently implemented we mostly only see the vehicles status description now.
Maurice (3/13/2020, 7:06:46 PM): It is basically the same thing as the status code would just be designating what description the vehicle is in.
Maurice (3/13/2020, 7:07:10 PM): Congratulations again on the purchase!

Me (3/13/2020, 7:07:24 PM): OK, Thanks"

The people who answer the online chat very rarely are able to answer anything other than a stage and estimated ship date. The phone reps can usually give you the actual status code and they know where it is in transit but likely won't tell you because they aren't supposed to divulge that info.

Update : It looks like it is still in D1

From Ram Cares Chat:
Cheryl (3/17/2020, 4:20:57 PM): Hi, my name is Cheryl with Ram Customer Care, How may I help you?
Cheryl (3/17/2020, 4:21:49 PM): Hello XXXXX. How are you this evening?
Cheryl (3/17/2020, 4:23:22 PM): Congratulations on your order of the 2020 Ram 3500
I can certainly appreciate your excitement to get behind the wheel of your new order. While I am pulling up your order details, would you please provide me with name on vehicle order, full address, phone and email address, in order to document your new vehicle order status request?

Me (3/17/2020, 4:23:28 PM): I am just checking on the status of my new truck order. VIN XXXXX VON XXXXX. I was given an estimated ship date of 2020-03-18 1:59 AM
Cheryl (3/17/2020, 4:24:18 PM): Thank you for holding XXXXX. Your 2020 Ram 3500 is at Gate line schedule. Vehicle sequenced for production to begin.
Cheryl (3/17/2020, 4:25:04 PM): Your vehicle has not even been built, so your ship date is not correct.
Cheryl (3/17/2020, 4:25:21 PM): Would there be anything else I can assist with today?

Me (3/17/2020, 4:25:23 PM): Ok, Thank You, Have a nice day
Cheryl (3/17/2020, 4:25:33 PM): Thank you for contacting Ram Customer Care. Please chat with us again if you need further assistance. You can also look for updates on our website www.ramtrucks.com. Have a great day!

Well, this is my 2nd truck I've ordered within a couple of month's of each other. The first one came in damaged and now the 2nd on is held up because of the Virus shutting the plant down.

The wife and I had a 4/5 week trip planned (about 5k miles) to travel to see Family/Friends and some sight seeing in the new Ram truck pulling a trailer and we had to postpone trip due to the first truck arriving damaged. Now this will be the second cancellation and I don't think her job will allow her to reschedule again add take this much time off later in the year.

I guess it's not meant for us to get a new truck for some, who knows what the reason is..

Due to all these problems, the wind has been knocked out of our sails and we have just lost all of our interest in getting this new vehicle. We will reevaluate the situation when the 2020 Ram gets here if it ever does. or we may just keep the 2006 Ram a few more years and then re-evaluate our situation then.

I wish everyone else out there the best of luck out there and be safe with what ever you all are doing.

Update : Truck is in the Inspection stage.

My Dealer just sent me an email a few minutes ago and here is what he responded to a couple of links I sent him earlier today.

We have heard of the articles and the closures. However nothing has been said to us regarding the orders of our vehicles as of yet. You truck is currently in Inspection stage.

This makes us feel a little better after posting the previous post. May be they are going to complete all the vehicles that already started down the assembly line before they shut down... Wish full thinking on my part.

I did read one article that said they would do "an orderly shutdown". I took that to mean vehicles under way would be completed, rather than everybody running out like a fire drill, but that was strictly an ASSumption on my part.

I hope yours makes it to transportation.

This is exactly where I am at in the thought process. Unfortunately, this is going to be happening throughout our economy. Although I didn't have the plans for a trip yet, I am a little over a year out for the wife and I to start our 2nd lives on the road. Ours would consist of chasing the weather throughout the winter months. I wanted the truck this year, to get it all set for acquiring our "perfect" 5'er. No sense in buying the 5'er until we have the truck to pull it. Now, I am looking to repurpose the 2001(add 5th wheel hitch) and continue looking for the 5'er, and tow with that initially. Times are gonna get rough for awhile. Be smart, be safe, god bless us all.

I hope so. I would hate to have the vehicle that was stopped midstream and not touched for months, then finished at a later date.

Wow that order went fast! Much faster than mine anyways.
