Ram's Holding Some Late November to Early December (Possibly More) Orders Due to Quality Issue (threads merged)

Is that tire ok? It may be the pic but there is something up with the sidewall right where the wheel damage occured. It is very possible the tire was danged as well. Just make sure it is checked at least. Hate to see yah have a blowout.

Right below the 60

I’ll check tomorrow but in person I didn’t notice anything. I do plan on replacing the tires within a few weeks either way. The stock tires on my 2019 1500 Limited were crap. I think I’m going to do 35” Toyo AT3s.

might want to check, i know they have been on backorder at least a month ago or so they were.

i was talking about checking on the Toyo AT3 being on back order.
Yeah, I was kidding. I needed to make sure it fit in the garage ok before I went down that road too far. I’m in no rush. Thanks for the heads up.

It means what it says. This thread is about trucks that have gone missing for 2 months. So far no one has had the balls to demand where they have been before taking delivery.

Your comment was hardly clear for someone not closely following the thread.

"You should've found out the quality issue before taking delivery."

Do you mean to imply HE should have done more to identify what is likely a completely unrelated issue (failed air spring) or that someone at FCA should have told him something more about the reason for the holdup.

That's all I was getting at so don't get too snarky about it. We all understand people are mad when they lose control of circumstance, but that doesn't give you an excuse to be rude about it.

I wouldn't either but what you want and what the insurance says are 2 different things. Had a friend go through it and as much as he fought it he had to take the truck back, they are not going to buy you a new one unless it is totaled.

.

Never having ordered a vehicle, I thought you still would have a right to change your mind and not take delivery (maybe lose a deposit). I have been told by dealers that this car/truck was ordered by someone and they did not pick it up (probably BS).

My second thought is that you shouldn't have insurance on a truck that you do not have ownership of, so it is not your responsibility. Again I know nothing, just giving my opinion.

Good Luck, I hope it all works out for you!

You are correct. The way he was describing the incident I thought for some reason he had taken possession of the vehicle at that point. In this case he did not own the vehicle yet so not his problem.

That is the same reason the Ram is not telling anyone what is behind the recent vehicle recall.

Until you pay for the vehicle and take delivery it still belongs to them regardless of it being "built for you."

So, they don't have to tell anyone on the outside what they did to their product before it was sold and can stand behind the old adage... " S""t Happens!...

Ram Customer Care just uses a multiple sentence version of that.

So my truck finally came in today, picked up late this afternoon, but here are the pics of him/her, dont know what the name is going to be yet..lol. for those of us who have been waiting, the wait was worth it. Ordered on 10-21-20, built 12-20, finally delivered 3-29-21. Only thing that is wrong with it is the tailgate soft open does not work. Dealer is working with FCA to determine the problem while I get to enjoy the drive.

Congrats!!

My truck is still MIA. Ram cares brand representative did not call me back after saying they would within 48 hours. No one has any answers of where its been the last two months. I'm getting my deposit back today. Good luck with your trucks, I hope you have success with them.

My original order finally came in today, which puts it 10 days behind the arrival of my 2/18 order. This one was placed on 11/24. It's got the all-important vinyl seats and floor! If anyone's interested please contact Diego at Cerritos Dodge :D

It looks like you don't plan on towing.

My soft open didn't work either. The dealer was all bumfuzzled and talking about replacing the whole gate. I finally convinced them to pull the taillight and discover the gas strut was left off my truck. Five minute fix.
