Price negotiated from MSRP

Can someone please explain to me what the Ram $1000 voucher is, who is eligible for one, if they are still being offered, and what it takes to get one? Do you need to be a current or previous Ram owner to get one? I'm not. I did sign up for marketing emails on RamTrucks.com in the hopes I'll see a coupon/voucher that way eventually,

It's a literal voucher you may or may not get. Very little rhyme or reason who receives them, and when they receive them. Seems like it's every other month or so.

Just gotta get lucky.

You can also become a member with Penfed credit union, after 60 days you're eligible for a $1000 coupon

Thanks. I just tried to sign up with Penfed and after entering all my personal information including SSN and credit card info to fund the account, at the very last step I got an error from their system saying they are experiencing difficulty. That's curious since the entire application process was humming along just fine until the very end. Guess I'll try again tomorrow.

I had a bit of a hard time setting up my penfed account too. I ended up calling in, had to send some extra info, etc. Only a few minutes of effort really, so worth it for the 1000 bucks.

Same thing is happening to me. I haven’t tried to manually enter acct info, yet. I may just end up calling when I get home.

If you're eligible for penfed, you're also likely eligible for USAA and only need to create an account id, no products or other accounts required. Unless something has changed, that gets you the same $1k truecar incentive without the $5 funding. USAA also had better preapproved rates, used to negotiate better rates with others.

Thanks! Yes, I'm a veteran. This is the first I heard about a link between USAA and truecar.

Ok, I'm truly lost, can someone help this dumb dumb understand how to get the penfed $1000 discount? I'm already a member and have been for years, I have not seen any emails with discounts nor have I seen anything on their site?? What do I need to do or sign up for in order to receive the $1000?

Thanks!

Ok, so to keep the wife away from my 2021 3500 diesel dually I just had to order her a 2022 2500 gasser. Limited. MSRP $75k, got it 6% under invoice again for $64k and change.

I think im done now!

Let's hear what everyone is paying for their new Heavy Duties! These threads are great as it give people an idea of pricing to shoot for when purchasing.

I think the best way to make this thread is as follows:
MSRP of the specific truck
What Rebates and incentives were applied and $ amounts
Any further negotiations
Final price

Please do not include trade in values, taxes, OTD price or anything like that as those are all variable depending on where you live etc. Rebates and incentives are also regional so also please post up where you purchased the truck and when.

Example:

2016 Ram 1500 Sport

MSRP $64,440
-$10,000 rebate from Ram
-$1000 skilled trades rebate
-$3940 additional negotiated at dealer
=$49,500 paid

Vancouver. B.C August 2016
2021 Ram 3500 DRW Laramie Crewcab LB 4x4 6.7L HO Aisin Billet Silver Tow Package etc.
MSRP 78320
PAID 72,000 using TrueCar Excellent Price
Dealer was not happy but honored the quote.

2022 RAM 3500 4x4 SRW Laramie CCLB
HEMI and fairly loaded

MSRP 70,280
Price 62,210

~11.5% off MSRP
Planning to apply Penfed $1000 voucher and hoping for an incentive from FCA

Folks, FCA has a group buy discount of 6% below invoice on factory orders. This is the way to go. Yes, you have to finance some amount through Chrysler Capital with its god-awful rates but the deal is you only have to make 3 payments, I think, and then you can dump it. Either pay it off or re-fi it with whomever.

If your dealer won’t show you the build sheet with the FWP (fleet wholesale price) on it then stop talking to them. On these HD Rams, how they price especially in the higher trim packages, FWP minus 6% is going to be in the ballpark of $10k below sticker. I’ve done this twice now. It’s a lot.

If you’re buying off the lot, that’s different. You‘re going to pay a serious premium to have a vehicle TODAY. That’s just how that game rolls. But if you have time and patience, orders are the way to go. My 2 cents. Good luck!

Here is a build sheet, so you’ll know what it looks like. It’s the same at any dealership in the USA and probably even Canada too.
