Price negotiated from MSRP

Who did your quote come from?

My deal was somewhat timed right. I received the new msrp (truck built after MSRP drop as original msrp was like 90k). Mark dodge was doing around 12% off with affiliate at the time. I also got the 10% factory rebate too. So it turned an 80k msrp down to 62k and change before taxes/reg. I got the first responder 500 which wasted the doc free out.

Mark dodge is currently doing a higher dealer discount with the current orders that is about 2-4k better than what I got. However, there is a very small factory rebate compared to my 8k off, currently I think its 1-2k max....
You could be able to Get a truck like mine from mark dodge for 67k-ish before taxes and reg...
There are TWO separate issues/questions here, and they’re slightly related. This may be more information than necessary but y’all seem to really like getting into the nitty gritty, so here goes. I’ll try to share as much as I can without

ORDER PRICING VS INSTOCK 90% of the time, ordering from Mark Dodge gets a better discount than taking an instock unit. In this particular instance, RAM has reversed the incentives so we actually get a known amount when the vehicles ship, rather than sell. This is what allowed us to move from the standard 11% discount to what averages out around 14.5%. We’re predicting our incentive pool and spreading it on the orders. They’re putting the dealers in charge of where to spend the incentive money, instead of pigeon-holing us into better deals on Bighorns than Limiteds, we can make our own mix and add it to our dealer discount in a way. It’s pretty sweet for us since we’re ordering in advance, not dealing with rotting stock on lot – we now have a little more control. You’ll still see occasional tiered smaller rebates from RAM as well but the lion’s share of the $ is going into this “stock & promote” program.

Now on TOP of that, Ram this month put out another incentive for these coupons that are distributed THIS month but must be USED this month by the dealership. We get a certain # of them, and when they’re gone the online pricing will be back to normal ranges, which were about the same as orders for the month of May. This one was pretty aggressive, I think most of the time it will be a bit smaller, but it will drive some volatility to instock pricing. We’re going to try to order and have plenty of instock units to choose from, but keep in mind that the pricing on instocks is NOT lockable, it’s either sold or it’s available – and the price online may be slightly off from one day to the next with these changes. Literally these are coupons, and we have a certain number of them – that expire July 1st and were initiated today.

ORDER PRICING VS PRIOR ORDER PRICING this is just a function of Ram changing the pricing and the rebates at the same time, take a walk down memory lane and you’ll see that this particular build is better off today than when the 21% was active.

We can’t count the people who got the 21% and the price drop, because that was only 4 days worth of ordering by sheer luck, nothing what we knew about or advertised.

They had the truck on sale for 9850 off or something real close to that, I just rounded up to 10k, they had broke it down in the paper work as 2 different 5k rebates, I didn't ask or inquire about them. I offered below that price and settled on 71k. Sorry I don't have more info about it than that. Even though I felt I got a fair amount off msrp I still don't think a vehicle should coast that much....I'm older and can't except the new norm lol

Ah actually you know what that makes sense if they were using some of the select inventory bonus cash coupon things. You got a pretty dang good deal regardless!
I lived in GBR Country southeast of you for a few years, many years ago, beautiful part of the country you have there!

As outlined in the site forum rules, we do not allow political discourse outside OT. If it gets vitriolic, we may even shut that down completely.
Unfortunately, even with 10-20k off msrp, these vehicles dont feel like good deals.

I’m ordering 4 sushi rolls right now and it was $59, not some impressive restaurant in a downtown area. Everything is stupid expensive. I’d agree the trucks are overpriced, I wish I could have paid less but I’m honestly pretty happy with my 24 Laramie 3500 mega diesel for 62k. My FIL bought a Buick enclave avenair which I feel it’s a POS suv that looks like a minivan for around 50k. The ram is a lot more vehicle for another 12k. Corollas are like 30k ***

I've gotten otd quotes of low to mid 50s for a 24 2500 cclb 4x4 hemi lmfao I literally want the cheapest thing on the lot and they're trying to rake me over the coals for it. 5year old design, with a 10year old engine...50k

You got a great deal at $62,000! What options did you get?

3500 mega cab, pearl white, Laramie level 1 (didn’t want 18 speakers and rear seat heaters for 2k, bad value). Added snow chief package a la carte minus the tires since they are junk anyways. Cargo camera, chrome bumpers and bed liner/step/light package, and side steps since the little kids can get in and out easier - msrp was 81ish,

I caught the week when you got the new pricing and the 10% ram rebate and the dealer discount. One week later I would have been around 67k.

Cummins is a 10k option. Mega adds about $1500, 3500 adds 1500. You’re likely talking a tradesman in the low 50s.

The design of these trucks is fine. You want more junk tech that will fail? Not me…

Just quoted a customer on a 2024 3500 Laramie, to replaced his 2022 2500 laramie that was totalled in a freak tornado/microburst. By grace of God, customer is in good health.
Anyway, his '24 3500 will cost less than his '22 2500. This is due to the MSRP decerease and refreshed dealer incentives that did not exist in 21/22.
The prices we are yearning for are from 2020 and earlier. Those aren't coming back on trucks, sushi, groceries, or streaming services.

But I DO think that while RAM was the most aggressive in raising their prices, they are just now starting to level off and realize it, and the other trucks will catch up.
We'll keep doing the best we can on the cards dealt from RAM!

If only RAM would put the 5th Gen 1500 cab on the HD trucks, integrate steps into the bumper and side of bed like GM and Ford, ditch the 68RFE, and make the 4wd system not dependent on electronics to lock in(my 2024 manual shift RAM still has a delay due to electronic shift in progress), then they’d have something. If nothing else, at least the wonderful, spacious and good looking 5th Gen 1500 cab.
The current cab on these trucks looks ugly and outdated, feels outdated, have the least amount of room, still have a huge hump in the middle of the floor in the rear seat area, the worst visibility out of the rear window, and the smallest door entry room out of the 3 HD manufacturers. Give us the 5th Gen cab from the 1500!

To each their own! The Ram crew cab short bed is a full 12" shorter than the default crew cab short beds from the other brands, and therefore is the only HD truck I can park in our garages. I'm gladly living with the 3" less legroom and hump in order to have an HD truck, period. If for 2025 they lengthen the shortest truck to increase cab then I'm glad I got a 2024 before the deadline!

Not all of us share your opinions, including Car and Driver:
Although heavy-duty trucks from Ford, Chevy, and GMC are also large and luxurious inside, the Ram has the best interior in the segment with luxury-car-level detailing, extreme comfort, and a clean, modern design, while the highest trim levels offer premium materials.
When my buddies with high end Ford and GM HD's ride in my Limited Longhorn Mega, they remark about impressed they are with it. I sure don't have any complaints, coming from a high end GMC 3/4ton to Ram.

It’s ok…I understand some of you suffer from Stockholm syndrome. The interiors of RAM are nice, the materials they’re made of are nice, but the fact still remains that the cabs are outdated with outdated looking doors, hump in the center of the rear floor, you have to pay extra for cheesy bumper and bed steps, and the 5th gen 1500 cab is better in every way. The 5th gen 1500 crew cab has the same amount of room as the weird looking mega cab. And who listens to a publication named Car and Driver when we’re talking about trucks?
I already traded my ‘24 Cummins for a ‘24 Chevy 2500HD gas and am much happier. The Cummins obviously had more power and I rate the instrument cluster and 8.4” radio better than what’s in my 2500, but the Silverado beats it every where else.
If RAM will make updates like I mentioned earlier, I’ll come back.

We'll have to agree to disagree. My Mega has almost no hump in the back seat.
And who listens to a publication named Car and Driver when we’re talking about trucks?
Lots of people. We own cars and trucks. And RV's, and motorcycles, and ATV's, and trailers, and tractors, and boats,....
