Powerwagon with Cummins

I understand the need for satisfying a wider variety of consumer needs. What bothers me is that they are using the "prestige" (if you will) behind the Power Wagon name to sell something that's not a Power Wagon. It's a great idea, a good group of options they probably should've just added to the build sheets of Rebels to begin with, but lumping it all in with the Power Wagon is nothing but a money grab and makes the Power Wagon just look like another 'parts bin' package. There is history behind our trucks that I think is ignored by selling the name like that. This is similar to the vertical bar grill, it sold so well on the 75th's as a defining feature that they carried it forward to sell future trucks, so now the 75th Anniversary addition is only defined by a couple badges on the cab and some nice front seat coverings. Still not a deal breaker haha just annoying, mostly because I have one :p

lol I got rid of the 75th badges on mine

Seems like some of you forget that Ram considers the Rebel a Power Wagon too. So it’s hardly a fake PW.

Ford considers the jellybean EV a "Mustang". Does that make it a "real" Mustang?

I didn't forget, I just think that was a mistake. It dilutes the name, and it makes shopping online harder when Rebels clog up the PW search results. Rebel should have continued to be it's own trim level like in the 1/2 tons.

(edit for clarity: I think the naming convention was a mistake, I think offering the product diversity is a smart play)

RAM could use the opportunity to add a PTO driven hydraulic pump to the power wagon transmission.

Then offer a hydraulic winch on the front and back, plus the tow ball hitch.

12 volt standard alternator and 24 volt aux alternator.

That would put it into almost a COTS setup.

The people calling the new diesel PW not true to name are forgetting that the original PW was a heavy work truck. This thing is closer the the spirit of the name than what we’ve had for the last few years.
