Last week i was driving on the highway. Out of nowhere, it seemed like i lost OD, cruising at about 70 rpms shot up to about 3k and check engine light came on. In addition, the D indicator had a "4" next to it, similar to if you use the gear limiter.
I was able to pull off, shut the truck down and restart. trans behavior went back to normal. but the stored code remained. PO755, which i think i read has to do with the B solenoid. I do have a calibrated power tune, but i was only in the 3 setting for street. truck has just shy of 45,000 miles on it so i think i am nearing trans service or a flush or something. but for a truck that does not see a ton of towing or hard use i am a bit surprised. has anyone been through something similar?

Sounds like your truck went into limp mode. I’ve seen a few other posts similar to yours and the fix was a new solenoid pack and a quick learn procedure.

thanks for the info. ill be doing some research. might make sense to do a VB and solenoids all at one time if i am in there.

This happened to me a few week ago while towing a boat. I pulled over and restarted the truck. The CEL was still there but let me drive as normal. When I returned home I was able to clear the code, and it hasn't returned.

I had a similar issue last summer while towing a 6k trailer with the cruise set at 65. 2021 SO with 68RFE. Shutdown and restart, ops back to normal. CEL & P0765 (Shift Solenoid D). Had 10k miles on the truck.

Put 1k more miles on with no issues before dealer could get me in. Stated solenoid was shorted on the paperwork, and they replaced the solenoid. I now have 17K miles on truck, and the issue has not repeated. My hope is it was a faulty/intermittent solenoid that is now corrected, but time will tell.

In other reports I have seen, the fault also reset. So it appears to be some type of intermittent/sporadic failure.
