Right!? I about laid an egg when i saw it..this thing has a ton of options and still a fantastic payload. Ill scale it at some point but coming from a 1500 w/1700lbs of payload this new truck is amazing
That 6.4 is the way to go on a 2500 if you need payload and don't want or need a diesel.
What model and trim is your 2500? My payload is 2948 lbs. My details are in the signature but here they are to see when viewing via a mobile device.

Yah, my 2018 EcoDiesel has 1105lbs payload. I think my 64 VW Bug had about that… Pathetic
Does the air suspension on the '26 SRW CC Laramie/Longhorn Cummins take payload weight off? I have a '19 "little" 6.7TD that has ~3980 in the bed as configured, want to go to a MC for the next truck but can't lose much if any pin weight for trailer capacity. Looks like the new/only Cummins has grown to 24K# for towing. Need the same if not more capacity at the pin though as I have today. Thanks for any help/pointers.
Yes, the weight of the system, just like any other option, reduces rated payload.
While there's a small offset with a different leaf spring pack setup, it's still a negative payload hit.
Yeah my '24 is stamped 2,300ish lbs. of payload. Identical truck in '25 is over 3,000 lbs. Big difference thanks to that new 11,300 GVWR. But, since everybody says the hardware on these trucks is identical, and mine is personal use only, I don't really care. Send it.

My 2019 SRW Bighorn Cummin's has a GVW of 12,300 and a light weight of 7,734 lbs . Giving it a load capacity of 4,566 lbs . That's what a Diesel truck should have . I don't understand why they keep cutting the weight back . It seems people want capacity with the Diesel engine's.

Yeah this is an interesting observation. My F-250 and Ram 2500 stamped with identical payloads (around 2,300 lbs) and GVWR (10,000 lbs). But, the body on the Ford is FAR more lightweight, which means that all the weight is in the chassis (which Ford engineers said is what they had done starting with the 2017 refresh). And last night while installing step rails on my new-to-me Ram I noticed it. Visually the frame and chassis on the Ram is noticeably smaller and less substantial. And my Dad's '21 Chevy 2500HD D-max has a huge, substantial frame AND a thick steel body and the curb weight is considerably higher. Just interesting to me how all three brands build these trucks very differently.
