Please Post Payload Sticker from Driver's Door Jamb.

So here's a mystery... Why the heck does my sticker look different from everyone else's? For reference, it's a 2021 2500 limited with the CTD.

That's a different sticker.

Look for the yellow one on the truck part of the drivers door jam. I.e. open the drivers door, facing the truck, and look down and to the right.

PXL_20220305_184419801.jpg2021 tradesman lvl 2! Wanted a Laramie but payload suffered from it. Pull a 17000 pound 5th wheel and at times a bobcat and mini excavator! Always amazed at how well these trucks pull with ease!

2021 2500 Tradesman 4x4 6.4L Hemi Short bed, slightly optioned, has chrome package (not the lowest base model)

If it’s hard to see, payload is 3116 lbs.

I don't have the door jamb sticker yet because the truck hasn't arrived, but here is what I pulled off the web today. Look at the difference in payload and towing capacity when I reconfigure a Laramie with Hemi.

First order was with the short bed and 3.73. It had a payload of 3032lb and towing cap of 15,032.

Second order - I added the 4.10 ratio, long bed, 50 gallon tank, 5th wheel prep, and wheel-to-wheel steps. That cost me 369 pounds of payload capacity. Not a big deal though. I still have more than double the towing and payload compared to my 1500.

Look at the towing capacity with a 6.4 Hemi. It was 15,032 with 3.73, and 16,863 with the 4.10 ratio. That's a significant difference. This may help others with this decision (3.73 vs 4.10). I doubt I'll ever pull anything really heavy with it, but the 4.10 will be great if I ever decide to lift it and add 37s.

Okay, finally found a 2500 Limited near me that I could drive and view the payload sticker. The news is just awful; 1,990 lb payload.

+Delmonico Red, $100

+5th Whl/Gooseneck Towing Prep, $445
+Body Color Bumper, $395
+Limited Level 1 Group, $2,995
+Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle, $445
+6.7L I6 Cummins Turbo Diesel, $9,100
+Power Sunroof, $1,095
-RamBox Delete, -$490

MSRP: $80,520

With our trailer's GVWR of 11,000 and 1,600 hitch weight, there doesn't appear to be any way a 2500 Limited is going to work for us as we'd only have 390 lbs of payload remaining. While we don't need the 5th Wheel / Gooseneck Towing Prep, we would like the RamBox, extra alternator, auto level air suspension, and deployable bed step. Does anyone know the weight of the sunroof or 5th Wheel / Gooseneck Towing Prep?

It's looking like if we're going to get a RAM, it'll have to be a 3500.
Get the tow prep. It’s only about 300.. after the fact it will cost you double to get it and won’t be included in your factory warranty.

Hi, I have the gas version and I have about a 1,000lbs more payload.

I searched and i didnt see the link in any posts

Found this today

wonder how it compares to the actual stickers on the doors.
It will either be a maximum based on vehicles with no engines, or it is based off of the options that are selected a certain percentage of the time.

If you put in your VIN, then it was accurate at one point...but I think it has gone to crap again.

based on options, it has cab, bed engine and then you can pick final drive ratio.
Non-HO 3.73 (SRW), HO 3.73 (SRW) and then HO 4.10(DRW) - so i dont think its a generic value.

Those I would call configurations, options are going to be like off road group, snow plow prep, ram boxes, etc. etc.

I don't disagree. Its the closest ball park I was able to find this far, vs some other locations that have more generic details that dont add up or make sense honestly.

Outside of this, paying $10 and going to a scale to know what your actual weight is and then calculating the reverse from Tire load charts, total capacity and total payload the specific setup was designed for.

I do like how this page distinguishes in the search based on kind of truck, then engine, Cab, Box, Driveline, and SRW/DRW (via Axle ratio).

this one made less sense to me, so i shared.

The site isn’t accurate based on my door jamb sticker….for my VIN the site says 2640 (or something like that), my sticker says 2778 (2022 2500 6.4 mega). I’m going with the door jamb sticker. Also, the dealer had all 4 tires at 82 PSI when it was delivered to me while the sticker wants 60 on the front and 65 in the rear. I’m going with the door jamb sticker. Even fully loaded for camping and tested on the scales, I could conceivably come down in tire pressure based on the tire load charts, but for now I’m using the sticker as my guide. For the record - I’ve got over 700 pounds of cargo capacity remaining fully loaded for camping. If RAM would offer a 50 gallon tank to replace the 31 gallon tank - that would only eat up less than 200 pounds of available capacity. I’d GLADLY give that up for the extra distance. 31 gallons at <10 mpg when towing….yikes!! Different thread for that though…

what size bed do you have?

what size bed do you have?
6’4” - when I placed the order, I missed the fact that the 8’ bed may have given me that option….I’ve been watching that other thread with interest but we’ll see how it does in the real world. We’re retired and choose pretty slow and short travel days - try to keep it under 250 miles/day - if it gets 8 MPG towing by 31 gallons we’re cutting it close…but we’ll see…

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but curious to know if your door jam sticker is higher or lower than what the Vin check tells you on ram's site?
