Oil Thread - 6.4 Hemi

Just for shiz n gigs I looked up the amsoil signature 0w-40 .. is it really $14.49 per quart? I don’t see how it can be twice as good as the PUP at $7.15/qt.
It’s like $10/qt when you get the “preferred membership” which pays for itself quickly. I bought Like 2 cases of motor oil and a case of gear oil

As @el_barto mentioned... get the membership and (at least for me) it's about the same as the PuP.
And I usually make one big order for all the vehicles so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But is it better? if it’s convincingly better I might try it despite poking fun of amsoil fanbois for years. But, I have 15 more quarts of PUP still in the garage so it would be about two years before I would need to consider changing oil brands.
The ram is the only one in the fleet that I care about oil choice since it has the longest OCI and it gets worked the hardest.
The Mazda CX-5 burns so much oil that it gets changed twice every time I change it once.
The Porsche gets conventional 20w50 so castrol gtx or rotella is cheap and perfect for it (5qt jug@ $18)
The Toyota gets whatever flavor I have laying around since I put like 25 miles a year on it and well, it’s a Toyota.

I ordered the AMSOil 0W-40. Yes, it’s expensive. So what? The truck was expensive.

Any recommendations on filters? I’ve always thought WIX/Napa Gold we’re good but I’m open to suggestions.

For those having oil changes coming up, I found the PuP on walmart.com for a decent price.

Whatever you do, don't try to pour the oil in quickly.
That little riser that the oil cap screws into won't take it very fast.
Now I have a little mess on top of the head. Should smell nice.

She’ll spit it out if she can’t swallow it fast enough. End result is messy head.

Learned that with other ones before this one.

Did the first oil change on my truck last weekend. Figured hell with it and went with Penzoil. Decided I wasn't going to risk an argument over warranty should anything happen to my engine, and also feel that as expensive as these modern engines are to fix/replace, Ram/Fiat is not going to approve someone's oil that could potentially be detrimental to an engine while under warranty when they are footing the bill.
Under it law it doesn't matter what brand of oil you use, just need to use the correct viscosity.

You can run the Signature Series up to 25,000 miles or one year. www.ddiultimatelubes.myamsoil.com
That’s impressive. I don’t have 25k miles on my truck yet and I’ve had it 2.5 years. That’s too long of an interval for me, though. The anti-drainback valve in the factory mopar oil filters gets weak at around 6k miles from my experience and I change it when I start getting noisy startups. I did switch filters to Wix xp and I’ll see if that works better.

WIX or Amsoil filters are very good.
