Anyone have having oil consumption issues with the 6.4?

mine has not used any between oil changes. I change at 5000 miles but I only have 13000 miles.

No consumption here. About 3600 miles. Redline 0w40

I've had my truck about a month and burned through a quart of oil in 3k miles. I noticed blue smoke this morning when starting. I have 3,400 miles on the truck. Not sure if this is normal or not.

That is not normal. My 2019 6.4 uses no oil between 6000 mile changes.

23k on my 2021, no oil consumption. Periodic blue smoke on start up, I attribute to EGR on these 6.4. Lots of discussion wrt 6.4 EGR smoke on start up.

Not normal at all. I'd take it in in a flash and have the dealer fix it under warranty. I'm at almost 10K miles with two oil changes and never lost a drop of oil.

4,800 miles and no oil consumption and have had oil changed once.

My 2022 used 2/3 of a quart by the time it hit 3,000 miles. Maybe that is break-in consumption, and furthermore I haven't babied it. It has been towing for at least a thousand of those miles, and a few times towing nearly 14k behind it and seeing high RPMs. I just changed the oil at 3500 miles, running Mobil 1 Synthetic Euro 0w40. We'll see if the consumption continues, improves, or worsens.

My 22’ PW with the 6.4L used about a quart in the first 1000 miles. Now with 14,000 miles on the odo, it uses about a quart every 2500 miles. Time to bring the truck in :(

Good luck getting them to do a thing about that, they will tell you its within the normal consumption range.

Yeah I have a feeling they might say that. Need to get a few other things looked at anyways. If they don’t do anything, atleast have it down on paper that I’m concerned about the oil consumption

Don't let them pass this off as 'normal'. Losing 14.5% of your engine oil every 2500 miles is a sign that something is NOT normal. If the service rep says it is, ask him/her if they would accept their new 2022 +$55,000 truck losing that much oil as normal.

They'll still tell you its normal. And sadly, many brand new cars burn engine oil these days. Ford 5.0L V8's in the F-150's and Mustangs were burning a quart a thousand consistently since 2018, although a couple of recalls may have mitigated that issue. GM trucks with AFM / DFM use oil. So do Hemi engines, unfortunately. Even something like a Toyota RAV has seen recalls for oil consumption. The problem is either high compression, low friction (loose) piston rings for fuel economy, cylinder deactivation, or some combination of the three.

I have the same issue, 2022 with just under 4000 miles and I had to put my 3rd quart of oil in it. There is no oil leaking and the tail pipe is still silver with very little black on it. I never seen a cloud when starting. I do tow a 8000lb TT but this seems weird.

update- i took the truck in. They marked the fill/drain plug and dip stick then told me to drive 500 miles. After driven the truck 500 mile, i brought it back and they told me its normal .
Truck now has 18,900 miles.

I don't see how they can say that's normal! Losing a quart every 2,500 miles is normal? I call BS on that. I've got over 16,000 miles on mine now, four oil changes (the first at 500 miles just 'cuz) without a perceptible loss of ANY oil.

If you're losing 1qt/2,500 miles, how much was lost after your 500 miles 'test' - 1/5 of a quart? I'd recommend taking your truck to another dealer, print out the msgs on this board from folks who have zero oil loss and become a squeaky wheel.
