…that someone would even consider buying a vehicle from them after the Demon 170 incident?…
That was a different Mac haik.

This atrocious AI ad is from the one in Houston. Whoever is in charge of advertisements is a lazy f**k… or knows it’s so bad, it WILL get attention…

Based on the scumminess of the entire company, likely the latter.

That was my initial guess. I guess we will have to wait for the tell all to be written on the engineering aspect of it to know for sure.

There’s also a good chance that it’s related to the Octane series head.

External glow plug and injector bosses could easily be machined/threaded for gas application spark plugs and injectors.

Sharing a basic casting will be a huge cost savings.

On a side note, I wonder if the 14" system will be able to be retrofitted into trucks with UC5 12" infotainments.

Seems to me those types of retrofits are way too complex. I think the software and brain box are probably quite different. They seem to be a bit glitchy it sounds as well for the moment. Seems like the 12" is pretty damn nice though as well. Says the guy with an old 8.5" still :)

Most likely, but at $2900 for the screen and $400 for the screen bezel, it’s too steep to buy to try out. 14” screen also needs the 2025 radio module, and you have to use CDA6 to change the CAN configuration in the radio module from Atlantis Architecture to PowerNet II.

Yeah no thanks. I honestly wish these trucks had manual AC controls and what not more than anything. I hate having to mess with the screen buttons instead of knobs.

Im probably a minority on this, but I love how luxurious these trucks are becoming inside. Im even looking forward to autonomous driving feature as well in the near future. the 14" screen is a welcome feature IMO.

A friend has a 2021 similar to mine with the 12" Uconnect. His, at times, goes blank but it still functions, i.e., the radio is still playing, heater still on. Of course, the dealer has no idea why and cannot duplicate it. With all the electronics, it seems the manufacturers are ever increasing the complexity to a point of making it near impossible to diagnose problems. Just look at the steering wheel/clockspring issue, there isn't a clear answer to that issue. Not to mention that you need a co-pilot just to access and use some of the features on the screen so the driver doesn't take their eyes off the road. Don't get me wrong, I love my RAM. Got 19.9 MPG running empty on a 510 mile trip to Montana. Very impressed.

New fuel pump, CANBUS architecture, emissions system, glow plugs, transmission, head, block, turbo, yet people are ordering trucks sight unseen?

More adventurous than I am. I hate being a Beta tester especially when they still can't figure out various problems with my '22, 4 years into the new model.

It must be a struggle to go through life as a beta male.

Lol, j/k

I have ordered a 2025 3500 Limited Longhorn. I feel that automakers want you to think that trucks are so significantly changed that you rush out to buy the new models since all those past problems have been fixed. This is not the case for sure.
Trucks now see changes each year instead of the norm of 5 or 7 years. I feel it is a lost cause to wait for an-automaker to work out the kinks, otherwise, if you wait too long to see dependability results because by then you'll be looking at a completely different truck.

Does anyone know why we can’t order a 3500 SRW with rear air suspension? The 2025 order has to add max tow to get air suspension and changes build to dually. Have been trying to get answers on this since order banks opened.. My 2022 and 2024 had zero issues with orders in the same spec.. Tried multiple dealers and contacted a few reps with no answers..

No one will ever be able to give you an answer. Anyone who does is just speculating. All you can do is have your dealer keep checking and hope the configuration you want becomes available.

RAMs's track record since 2019 is bad. You trust the same people to build something with a large number of changes when they botched the small number of changes on the introduction of the 2019, many of which are still a problem for many people including me? Not all of mine are fixed after many trips to two different dealers all who seem to be behind the 8 ball because even Stellantis engineers have no idea what they're building or why it has problems. I don't blame the dealers who have never seen many of these issues and have absolutely no support of any kind from the manufacturer.

My local dealer has been great and treated me well. I feel sorry for them though, Stellantis techs have even lied to them. It's no wonder dealer techs, especially diesel guys, are leaving dealers and going to independent shops. Our local dealer now has one single diesel tech who's actually pretty good. Stellantis warranty reimbursement is poor though exacerbating this problem. Wait times for service are stretching further and further out as MANY members can attest to.

A prudent person would wait at least a short time to see if there's issues that may well leave them and their family stranded at the side of the road on vacation while dealers have utterly no idea what's going on since they've never dealt with the new ones. Tavares instituted brutal cost cutting and it shows. The new CEO hopefully can reverse this but it will take time.

What I can't understand is I bought a 4500 2019 cab & chassis and a 2020 Longhorn 3500 other than having some recalls done, I haven't had one issue for 81K miles.
What makes some issue free and others with some type of issue. They are suppose to be made with same everything. With all the electronics and tools avaliable in today's world there literally shouldn't be anything they can't trouble shoot.

One would certainly think so but as we see on this forum some have been nothing but trouble. I feel bad for the dealers who through no fault of their own have to deal with this nonsense.

I suspect cost cutting is a big part of it. Make parts right on the very edge of "good enough" versus a more robust approach. Also it's the bean counters. Say they save $100 on a marginal part that will only cost them $50 in warranty claims. This is the mentality driving the endless quest for shareholder value.

The result, dealers aren't happy, customers aren't happy, shareholders are. The problem is, who do you turn to when the other two manufacturers are doing the same thing?

Maybe we should dump the chicken tax and allow actual market competition.

Anyway, I'm off topic so I'm done.
