That yours?

NO additives - nothing but diesel out of the pump at whatever everyday brand name fuel station I stop at. They covered the lifter and rocker but then they put it back together and was still not running right and they opened the head at that point and found a melted down piston and ruined valves and a destroyed motor. They then had STAR TA come out and he said I had "Fuel Contamination" and therefore nothing is covered including no new motor. He shows some pics of some tiny rusty bits in the screen in the pick up pump and some tiny bits of brown "dust" in the filter. But that's where you would find any dirt or debris, that's what they are there for. AND on top of that, how is it my fault if some fuel possibly had some "Stuff" in it. How would I even know. On top of that there were ZERO lights on in the truck even after the rocker and lifter failed. The dealer tech said he got the truck with no lights on, that's after the motor blew up! It's a scam! Im beyond upset!Did they state what the contamination in the fuel was? Did you use any sort of additive? Also, what do you mean by “blew up on the freeway”?
I would definitely call a lawyer, you would think that since they found damage in the powertrain it would be covered under the 5yr/100k warranty.
Do you keep fuel receipts? Any water in fuel light? Any CEL prior to this?NO additives - nothing but diesel out of the pump at whatever everyday brand name fuel station I stop at. By "BLOW UP" I mean - MAJOR detonation with massive amounts of smoke out the back and then I limped it off the freeway at under 10 mph and it was shaking like it was going to fall apart. I got a lawyer yesterday. It's just so disappointing that my $90K truck that I LOVE with 23K on it explodes and all Ram and Star and Cummins have to say is "oh well, good luck buddy"! I can't believe what the world has come to! SO frustrating and upsetting. I make my payments and take care of my truck and this is what I get. Im not a rich guy, Im a home builder and dreamed of this truck for a long time before I got it.Did they state what the contamination in the fuel was? Did you use any sort of additive? Mine makes the same noise. You can hear an erratic tick at high idle and when revving the engine. I hear nothing at idle. Had it to the dealer and they said normal egr operation since there were no codes or drivability issues. They said they weren’t going to throw parts at it and to drive it until it breaks. It didn’t start making that noise until around 9k miles. I’m now at about 12,500 miles. I posted the video of the tick. I don’t believe it’s a lifter issue at all. Mine sounds more like a minor exhaust manifold leak, in my opinion. But I don’t know what it is and know I’m not the only one with the noise.
Check engine light. Have you contacted the fuel station?I have all fuel receipts on my company card
NO LIGHTS AT ALL
What's "CEL"?
To test their fuel and see if there is an issue with their tanks or “contamination”; whatever it may be. I’d be looking to find a scapegoat, other than yourself, if you did nothing wrong and you truly got some bad fuel that caused this. Any chance gasoline got into tour truck somehow?I had an engine light only the two times that I needed the recalls I believe, and I'm not sure about that even. I did do both recalls when they were requested. I don't go to only one station. But the ones I do for the most part are all reputable names. Not sure what they would tell me either? What are your thoughts there? Please
no chance gasoline - I can go to the four or five places I go around my home and see about samples but I would imagine that it could be an issue of fuel that come out of the tap now may be different then in the past or when I potentially got any bad fuel etc etc....... I'll ask though and see what I can get as far as info and maybe samples. Thanks for the advice. To test their fuel and see if there is an issue with their tanks or “contamination”; whatever it may be. I would be asking how the so called rust and other contaminants they claim to have seen got past a 3 micron nanonet fuel filter, you are using a Mopar/Fleetguard front filter correct? If not good luck...NO additives - nothing but diesel out of the pump at whatever everyday brand name fuel station I stop at. Double check your idler/tension pulley... Not the pulley itself but the "gator spring" that provides the belt tension. I'm not saying with certainty but that spring can develop a tick like that when at that point of tension from the belt.
Looked under my hood when I got off of work today with the high idle on. First I walked over to passenger side (I’ve only ever listened to it from the driver side), was definitely coming more from the passenger side. Popped the hood and oooh baby, she was ticking away. Tried to listen to it’s source and couldn’t quite tell with my naked ear where it was coming from, almost sounded like it was coming from the EGR valve. I’m gonna take a video of it tomorrow and I’ll post it here. I’m also gonna go buy an automotive stethoscope and poke around a bit.Mine makes the same noise. So yesterday afternoon when I was leaving work we checked my co workers truck. Hes got a 24 2500, 18k miles. No noise while reving. But hit the cruise control button at idle and but the rpm up to about 1500 and it was making the same exact typewriter noise from the passenger side of the block.Looked under my hood when I got off of work today with the high idle on. Edit: tried it this morning before the truck warmed up and the noise definitely wasn’t there. So it seems to only do it after warming up. Purrs like a kitten at resting idle speed.
