Let’s see your wagons with 35 and 37’s

I'll throw my two cents in on two of the issues you raise: re-gearing and wheels.

Re-gearing from 4:10 to 4:33 is a waste of money. Any good shop will tell you that you are spending a bunch of cash for almost no change in gear ratio, but they will do it if you insist. If you are planning on running 37s, and want to re-gear, then 4:88 probably make the most sense. An argument could be made for 4:56 and for 5:13, depending which way you want to go. If you really want 37s, maybe you should get those first and drive your truck for a while. See how it runs on the factory 4:10 gears. Then make a decision on re-gearing.

Wheels:

The factory PW wheels are 8-inches wide, so you can run a (37 x 12.5) but you cannot run a (37 x 13.5), because the wheel is too narrow. Also, the factory PW wheel has 45mm of offset, which is a lot for an over-size tire. You will have rubbing. You should be looking for a wheel with 18-27mm of offset.

The Method 704 HD has just 18mm offset, so it does a good job clearing the tires, but the tires will stick out more than with the other wheels. If - as you have said - you do not want the tires to stick out from the vehicle, then try a wheel that has 25-27mm. The Method 704 wheel will cost somewhere around $325 per wheel. EDIT: $405 per wheel (on sale right now: March 19, 2026)

AEV makes good wheels, and they have made the Salta HD specifically for Ram HD trucks, and for running 37-inch tires. The offset should be more to your liking. These cost somewhere around $305 per wheel.

The Innov8 wheels are forged, and are excellent wheels. The offset is good for what you are looking for. I don't think they are hub-centric (double-check on that), and if they are not, I would opt for the Thuren wheel (which is both forged and hub-centric). The Innov8 wheels will cost around $850 per wheel. EDIT: $959 per wheel

The Thuren wheel is probably the best wheel in this list, because it is both forged, and hub-centric. However, the Thuren wheel is 18-inches in diameter, while all the other ones are 17. Check on the tires you want to make sure you can get the ones you want in 18-inches if you want to go with Thuren wheels. The Thuren wheels are around $850 per wheel.

Prices for wheels have risen significantly in the last few weeks. I've updated some of them and added links.

The Innov8 wheels are now $1124 a wheel. Those are pricey, but look nice.
I think the ones you would want are $959 - either way, that's a lot of coin.

Getting ready to order everything, but I’m stuck on tires.

Size will be 37” x 12.5 x 18. Going on Foundation 18 x 9 wheels.

I am leaning toward Falken AT4W, but I keep seeing mixed reviews. Plus they are 20lbs heavier than the Michelins I have now. I expect heavier, but 20lbs is a lot, unless I am overthinking it.

I have also looked a Mickey Thompsons as well but they don’t come on 18” sizes in 37” tire.

Another option is Toyo Open Country AT3

Nitto Recon Grapper G3 look promising but 37” sizes aren’t out until sometime Q2

I need good in rain (live in Central Florida) and quieter for an AT on highway.

Any recommendations? No MT or RT wheels.

All the top name brands make good AT tires, so I don't think you can really "go wrong".

Having said that, develop a list of priorities, and then pick the one that hits more of the top priorities.

The Toyo AT3 has a really good reputation on the Ram HD platform. I hear that from a lot of shops that build-out Ram HD trucks for "overlanding". But I don't have a dog in the fight. I run 35-inch Mickey Thompson AT tires, and I am happy with them in every condition I've driven in - except Moab mud which is basically clay, and it can even be tough for MT tires.

The Falken AT4W is wider than the Toyo AT3, has a slightly higher speed rating, and more tread depth, but otherwise looks pretty similar:

Good information sir, thank you. My priority is ride comfort (noise) and wet traction as I live in Central Florida. Offroading is secondary. I like the Mickey's but they don't have 37 x 18 tires. Wish they did. This really is a close call with these two. I am really excited though to do this project. I do have high hopes for it.

The Toyos seem like they might edge-out the Falkens for your usage. They are 2 pounds lighter (probably not noticeable, but mathematically you will have a tiny bit shorter stopping distance), they are a little bit quieter, and they have a higher speed rating (which actually tells us more than just "you can drive faster" - it indicates that they are better at dissipating heat - which is important when towing, or just driving around in hot places). On the other hand, the Falken is supposed to provide slightly shorter stopping distance on wet roads (all other things being equal).

Both are great tires, and you can't make a mistake when choosing between the two.

Your answer helped me and didn't help me lol. I really appreciate your feedback though. Youtube and such is filling up with some much AI crap reviews it is getting challenging to get real world reviews of these tires.

I did some comparisons (albeit in a 35" size, not 37") using Tirerack's test data last summer for my own tire purchase, and the Toyo OC AT3's had the worst stopping distance in the wet (and general wet performance) compared against the Falken AT4W, BFG KO2 (KO3 didn't have the same metrics), Hancook Dynapro AT2 Ext and XT2, and the stock Goodyears.

So, IMO, while they're heavier than the Toyo's, given the meh performance in the wet, if I were you I'd go with the Wildpeak AT4's.

I will say I ended up going with 35" BFG KO3's which I find to be exceptionally quiet (especially for an AT tire), but they do seem to have issues getting perfectly balanced. I will be getting mine roadforce balanced at the dealer at my next oil change, but for now, my truck has a very mild bounce from like 55 to 58mph.
