LED light in tailgate handle

Nice job! Can you provide part numbers for everything you bought, and a quick sketch wiring diagram of what you did?

Also can you post a photo of how well it illuminates the ground around the back of the truck when the tailgate is down?

Mine is 1500 and I ended up connecting it to the bed lights although I never liked it because if I want it to light up I have to turn on the bed lights for the reverse, they only stay on when the doors are open.

Maybe Jimmy already has a harness available to make it work as if it were OEM.

So I've seen 3 different part numbers for the tailgate harness:

68521313 surround view backup camera, passive entry, light bar
68521314 surround view backup camera, light bar
68521315 regular backup camera, light bar
??? regular backup camera, passive entry, light bar

Are there any others?

What is the 68521313 specifically for? Are there others for the passive entry tailgate handle?

Mine is a 2020 with 360 camera, passive unlock, and LED lighting. I used this harness. There was one pin in that harness that my truck side harness was missing, so I just depinned it and tapped it into the truck running lights out back .

Hm ok. Thanks for the info. If that's the case, I'll likely need a different one than the 3 I listed. I have the regular backup camera and will be adding passive entry, so there's probably a 4th part number.

Anybody know if you can get just the LED light connector as a pigtail? Do they use that connector somewhere else on the truck?

The OEM way of connecting the light is a connector on the tailgate jumper harness (the one that goes from the bed to the tailgate handle). There is no wire pigtail coming off the light, as you can see in the pics of the light in this thread.

The connector itself is D4519A, which is a 805-120-533 connector. Google that number and you'll find some good info for rigging something up yourself with that specific connector.

I attached some documents below of that specific connector.
