Laramie vs. Laramie Longhorn leather interiors...any durability issues?

Hahaha, she does exist

I wonder if it's mandatory to switch to right hand drive to be legal? Got to add a bunch of $$$ to do the switch. I've seen several right and drives here.

1 year and 29k miles on my Longhorn. The seats have held up really well with over 600 butt hours in them. I was a bit leery of them at first because the leather is really soft but I can’t argue with the results. I had a couple of stains that I was able to remove, 1 that I have not been successful with. The interior leather components on the dash and such have also done well. I am in an extreme UV environment (Florida) and regularly use a sunshade, and my windows came tinted from the dealer, but you can’t have a sunshade on 100% of the time. I have been meaning to do a clear Llumar UV blocker on the windshield but just have not gotten around to it. I have this tint on my cars and it works really well for UV and heat blocking. The wood veneer was the first thing I expected to fail, it has also done really well and all factors taken into account, it is hard to argue that RAM does not have a big lead on interior fit-and-finish compared to other truck brands.

I’ve had a Laramie back in 2007 and in 2011, upgraded to a Laramie Longhorn.

The only thing I did was clean it annually with a moist cloth mixed with water and a touch of Dove Liquid Detergent.

The leather had a bit of fade (not much) and it’s softness …. Almost like the day I’ve picked it up.

I recently traded it for the PW-75.

Like others here on the Forum deciding on Leather, Partial Leather, Vinyl, Suede, Fake Leather, Plether or whatever anyone wants to call it here is my intentions: It may or may not help make the decision process easier for those who are interested in a Leather Interior. I haven't yet pulled the trigger and made the purchase so I cannot comment on final craftsmanship or quality however, I did ask the company to send me leather swatches in colors associated with Factory Interiors and the samples they provided are high quality automotive leather. As I understand this the the same company who supplies the factory leather interiors for RAM.

According to three different RAM Dealerships, you can get an aftermarket Leather Interior installed and still maintain your 3 year warranrty. Given the cost of a Leather Upgrade going from a Big Horn to a Laramie (3-4K) with partial leather or (5-8K or more for a Limited/Longhorn) I chose to purchase a Big Horn and plan to spend $1695 if I decide to stay with Factory Colors or $1995 if I Custom Design a Leather Interior. The above prices include Professional Installation because these are not seat covers. Your seats will be completely stripped and new leather installed in place of cloth or any of the above mentioned materials.

I didn't want all the additional electronic upgrades that come with the Laramie, Longhorn or Limited and the Big Horn provided all the truck I needed, but I wanted Leather Interiors because my dog usually travels everywhere I go. I will also save a lot of dollars to be used elsewhere..... LOL
