Just want a better ride

You obviously aren’t reading my posts. I don’t have any trailer sway and don’t use a WDH. SMH

lol. You obviously don’t pay attention to what you write… you mentioned sway and WDH as part of your tire comments, all I did was point out that if tires were cause that something is severely wrong as tires don’t have an effect on either of those concerns.

@AH64ID Your talking to a wall with that guy partner. Dude adds nothing of value to this sub, is clueless most the time, stuck in HIS ways and just barks about nothing in every thread hes in. Let it go

I got the Timber Grove 3" drop/level set up. Besides lowering the rear a bit the ride improved dramatically. Just need to find the sweet spot with the PSI. I run between 37-40 psi. I also got Bilstien shocks which made more improvement. I am real happy with the setup. I did not get the Timber Grove air pump. I use an Airlift pump and gauge.
These trucks are meant to haul heavy loads from the factory. But the ride can suffer when running empty. Going to an adjustable air system lets you decide how it rides.
2023 RAM 2500 Crew Cab short bed Tradesman 6.7 CTD

Hi All
Have a 2022 2500 with the offroad package and the cummins... I don't need a lift just want a better ride. I understand I got a truck to pull and it is a beast but would not mind giving up just a bit to not bounce down a concrete highway!! Any good ideas? Looked at the Thuren and Carli websites but they all want to level or lift.
Put 500 to 1000lbs in bed an the soft ride comes back

FWIW: been mentioned a few times already but I’ve exp with a 2015 and 2025 2500 6’6” bed and 2022 3500 LWB all Cummins crew cabs.
2015: leveled and 35” r17s KO2 with fronts at 65psi (6000lbs weight for tires due to. Bumper and winch) and rears at 50ish when not towing ( empty axel weight 3000lbs) No off road package. Ride was decent but needed to adjust rear pressure for pulling 7000lb travel trailer to stabilize swaying/squishy feeling due to increased sidewall. Adjusted TPMS with Alpha OBD
2025: factory off road package and tires not maxed (door stamp for this year shows fill pressure to 65psi and not 85.. this truck rides way nicer than my wife’s CX90. When I further adjust rear pressure when not towing, to 55psi it helps a bit more but I’m finding that it’s not really needed for my satisfaction. Apparently with the 2500s running coils all the way around and tuned suspension they figured out how to make it a more civilized ride. I test drove a 2024 and discovered this. I actually stopped in the middle of the test drive to check what the door stamp said. Common car dealership tactics to “make it a nicer ride” to deflate tires for show.
The 2022 3500 rode like it was on semi round rocks!! Even with lowered pressure it only got a little better. Rear leaf springs… got rid of that one.
Hope this is helpful.

60front, 40rear empty. 60front, 50rear towing 8k TT. No sway, no bars on WDH.

Exactly, start here.

After making sure you're not running too much tire pressure I think you'll find that you can't do much at the stock ride height up front, you need the taller coils of a small lift/level for an improved ride.

This is what I would run on my 2500 to minimize any change in ride height, but also to get a better ride.

1.0" front coils with Bilstein 5100's
1.0" soft ride rear coils or the dual-rate coils
Airbags to support the rear better when pulling

Those components will improve your ride, but it is still a HD truck so keep that in mind.
I agree with this post... Start with knowing your unloaded weight per axle and adjust tire pressures based on load... I did the rear track bar and that helped to stop the lateral lurching you get going over rough terrain... After that it has to do with your willingness to change the spring rate up front and or the rear.... You will need to replace the front track bar if you change the height and find someone who knows about cam bolt adjustment for your truck and height... CJC has the recipe and advice that works.... Pay once and cry once is my new moto... Do it right the first time

So you use a WDH without bars? What's the point in a WDH then? (also some WDH's only have their published weight rating when the bars are attached).... additionally in a thread about a better ride, a properly setup WDH provides for a better ride than no WDH or an improperly setup one.

Hitch came with the trailer. It’s rated at 10k without the bars. I disagree with “it rides better” with a properly set up WDH. I tried it both ways. For me the ride is better without the bars. Since I’m tired of hefting that heavy bugger in and out of the receiver, my new 14k adjustable height hitch should be here tomorrow. Cheers

Front sway bar disconnects. Leave them disconnected unless you're towing. I had mine disconnected 98% of the time because the ride was so much better. Even towed with it disconnected most of the time. It still handled great.

Thuren soft ride coils would help too.

tire pressure number 1. You can usually find a pressure chart for weight from the tire manufacturer and that will greatly reduce the impacts.
Sumo front bump stop replacements. Will take the shock out of hitting the front stop and mellow the larger expansion joints.
Now this last one was a surprise to me as our last set of tires did not quite want to balance out perfect so out of frustration we put Dynobeads in to hopefully cure the issue. Of course that part worked but the expansion joint rythem sections got much better also. Not sure that will work for everyone, mileage may vary.
