is there any 6.4 truck combos with no MDS from factory?

No. Either put it into tow/haul, or use the gear limit switch to limit the transmission to 8, and MDS will be deactivated.
I didn't realize this. So, if I set the gear limit switch to 8 while I'm driving so I can see what gear I'm in then MDS is deactivated?

Yes, problem being it has to be done every time the truck is started.

Actually, I don't mind MDS. I've researched this and there doesn't seem to be a high failure rate with the MDS system on a properly maintained engine nor is there any evidence that not using it will prevent a failure that would otherwise occur.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not convinced that the cost of the system is made up for in fuel savings but if it is already there I might as well use it.

I just soon not have it, but not sure its a huge reliability issue for Ram these days. Honestly I think it hardly ever kicks on, and you really don't notice it. Not worth fretting about.

I did a bit of research before buying my 6.4, what I found is that most the motors with lifter and/or cam failures had more to do with long idle hours, infrequent oil changes and the like. Keep your oil fresh, idle hours low and you should be fine.

I personally think MDS is a gimmick to get .01% better to meet CAFE standard numbers, but it shouldn’t really hurt anything… at least in its latest implementations.

At least we don’t need to worry about the stupid auto start stop. That system makes 0% sense to me in terms of motor longevity. Sure it’ll save $60 a year on fuel… but at what cost of a starter, needing a second battery that goes bad, etc. in my Jeep I went thorough 4 sets of batteries under the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty with a 5th going bad when I traded in for the Ram.

Maybe $6 a year on fuel. Unless it’s hot out, or cold out, or your foot slips off the brakes. What a dumb system.

The starters on vehicles with start/stop are built completely differently. There’s lots of info out there if you’re curious.

There's plenty out there and I'm sure the systems will get better as the tech becomes more common and engineers have millions of data point, I'm still not sold this far in though.

Albeit a long time ago. The study I read was that if you drive an average of something like 10 miles a day and cut down 90 seconds of idling time down, over the course of a year it was roughly 20 gallons a year. Something like that.

Extended idling is far more detrimental to the Hemi than MDS being used. Unfortunately MDS existing in the first place is the reason why idling is an issue.

I don't like the way the truck drives or sounds with MDS, so I disable it every time with the manual gear select.

FWIW you use AlphaOBD to enable the DIS to display the transmission gear at all times :)

Yes, and I'll consider it but I don't have AlfaOBD (I'd probably go with JScan) nor a bypass cable at this time. And I'm wary of monkeying with anything until my bumper to bumper warranty is up.

I used JScan to modify my truck to show what gear I am always in and it was easy.
