I am a Silverado HD owner and thinking of jumping ship, I have a ton of question
You can order a DRW in 3.73 rear end.Daily driving a dually?? Mkay...
While all 2500 and 3500 SRW come with a 3.73 final gear ratio, a dually will come with a 4.10, not the best when you bring up fuel economy.
2500 or 3500 SO engine can get right around 20 mpg highway driving, HO will be 2-3 mpg less highway, no point comparing city or mixed driving as this will depend.
There's plenty of MPG discussions just search
MPG are going to vary so much based on driving style etc that its an inexact science but general feedback would say that you can expect similar MPGs with the Cummins dually as you are getting right now with the Duramax.I am pretty curious to know what kind of mileage to expect from a cummins dually
