Grid heater bolt

That's frustrating on the warranty coverage for him. I had a little bit of a battle too as I did my own oil changes. To me, the maintenence is irrelevant for a grid heater failure. I understand for the lifter failures why they want oil records given the oil requirement change for the 19+ trucks.
Yea he tried making it clear the grid heater bolt has nothing to do with the oil changes but they are so much like robots these days its like talking to a brick wall..

I always document all my maintenance in the Ram app in addition to my own records. The dealership has access to all that information. I also keep copies of all invoices for maintenance items.

Yeah, I don’t see how oil changes, etc. have any bearing on the grid heater. That’s just a piss poor dealer cop-out.

I'm my case, supposedly it was STAR that required the oil records. Although, that could have been the dealership just saying that too.

Either way, it does just seem like an excuse to deny warranty for an unrelated reason.

I’m sure pretty much any manufacturer has an entire legal department whose job it is to justify denied warranty claims. It’s the same as insurance companies.

The less they cover, the better the profit margins.

Absolutely as well as they have engineers that design stuff to last past warranty but not much further. Thats why vehicles with longer warranty periods statistically last longer as they were designed to last.

At least with the grid heater bolt, it’s less crooked, and more of a “****, I did not see that one coming”.

Just a shame that they could find a way to justify denying a warranty claim on any motor that has nut/thread imprints on number six.

Its a shame they have not came out with a recall to fix the issue.
