The main reason is that a high quality ceramic coating top layer hardens to a 9h hardness. So it acts as a much more "permanent" resistant layer on top of corrected clear coat to protect from micro scratches, hard water deposit, iron deposits etc... Wax is also a protective layer, but with much less cured strength so it must be maintained more frequently. Wax can also actually capture certain deposits which can effect its performance long term.I know a lot of the members love Ceramic coating. I could possibly see this being done if it was stored outside 24/7 but why not just have a detailer put a good wax on it a couple times a year ?
