Got the 2500 ceramic coated today

I know a lot of the members love Ceramic coating. I could possibly see this being done if it was stored outside 24/7 but why not just have a detailer put a good wax on it a couple times a year ?
The main reason is that a high quality ceramic coating top layer hardens to a 9h hardness. So it acts as a much more "permanent" resistant layer on top of corrected clear coat to protect from micro scratches, hard water deposit, iron deposits etc... Wax is also a protective layer, but with much less cured strength so it must be maintained more frequently. Wax can also actually capture certain deposits which can effect its performance long term.

Automotive paint has never been better but when mfg’ers switched to water-based paint from solvent the unintended consequence was that paint got softer. Soft paint blemishes easily. Ever notice how bird poop and bugs can leave marks on the paint well after being cleaned? Ceramic coating imparts a very hard surface coating that has many benefits. Chrysler tends to have intermediate hardness paint while other badges, Porsche, are quite hard and others, Tesla, are very soft.
