Gear indicator option in gauge cluster?

I wonder if @RamCares can help get this available to us. At least for out dealers to have the ability to add this to our vehicles.

Since RamCares has been contacted, they could at least have the courtesy to respond and say they're looking into it or whatever, rather than no response at all! I do believe they have helped customers with problems, but think they're main goal is to monitor us kids to see what we're doing to our vehicles and how, then report back to Mom and Dad!!

It looks like @Ram cares is slacking on this post as well at others and on answering PM sent to them as well. I cant get Mark @RamCares to to reply to any of my PM's after he made promises he couldn't fulfill which was part of what I consider to be part of my new truck purchase. However he did apologise after I took delivery (and signed for the vehicle) as he did a lot of good things for me during the order of my replacement truck and I definitely do appreciate that.

Hopefully we will hear from @RamCares Soon...

If you guys think the “disabled” options on our trucks are bad you should see how many features are disabled on VWs and Audis that require basically the same steps to activate.

Many/most of those options CAN be easily enabled by a dealer, or simply with VAG-COM (now VCDS). I've enabled the global window open/close (includes sunroof close), recoded the trans to hold 1st gear to redline in Tip mode, adjust headlight aim, etc. all on a 16 year old A6.

OK, after catching up on the thread, I'm going to offer this.

There are lots of features in user manuals and product brochures that never make it into the final product. They all have a "subject to change" clause.

STOP bitching about it here. STOP tagging ramcares. Keep doing it and I will thread ban (lock out) the complainers from posting in the thread. It's really getting tiring to have all these technical threads trashed by a few chatty knuckleheads. THAT's what makes it hard for others to find info. Enough already.

Go buy the Koadtech cable and AlphaOBD and turn the damn thing on if it's that important.

Exactly! I think you and I have had this conversation before. The number of changes I could make on my wife’s ‘19 Tiguan were insane. I even enabled lane centering. It was practically a self driving car after that.

Go to Active Diagnostics
Then to Car configuration change
Then hit select option
then select ECUConfig 4-Actual gear for display
Select Yes

Thanks John. 30 seconds to program, 45 minutes to get those little connectors off.
You are welcome for sure, glad I could help
"The little connectors". If you are talking about the bypass cable I leave those connectors connected and just tuck the plugs into the top of the kick panel - totally out of the way and there for the next time needed. No need to completely remove.

Edit:
By the way. If you pull off the dash panel piece, by the headlight switch, that 45 minutes will become 5 minutes. It is held on by push brackets, so just pull it straight back.

I just put the driver's seat all the way back, laid down on the floor on my back up to about my waist and I was able to get the bypass cable plugged in to the bus block in a couple of minutes and I'm not small nor am I agile.

All you have to do is pull the headlight switch panel and the bus blocks are behind it. Easy peasy. :)

86 h.s that ain't your current picture then, or you have cheated the odds. Also I've had a bit to much loko juice so my apologies for misspellings and not making sense
At 86 years I don't even think about doing that anymore o_O

Pic is fairly current. I've been cheating the odds for a long time. Had some serious cancer problems when I was 30 and approx 20 surgeries, never thought I'd make 40, yet here I am. Yep still cheating them odds. Need to update that pic.
Wish I was there sharing that juice and talking story - enjoy!
