Howdy, any reason to do the first oil change on a standard output early? Or just wait for the ECM/EVIC to tell me to change? Thanks in advance
I agree, my first is always early. Did mine today at 3,000.I just had my first oil change done at 3600 miles. I've always done my vehicles early for the first change though.
No it is not checking the oil quality but it changes with driving habits and temperatures.... its not just a timer like you are suggesting.... oil analysis proves its not pushing the oil change limitsThe ECM/EVIC is programmed to show oil and fuel filter replacements at 15,000 miles. It does not check the condition of the oil.
I put 462,000 miles on my 2015 Ram. It would indicate 0% oil and fuel filter life at exactly 15,000 miles every time. The same with the Perform service warning every 67,500 miles. They are based on predetermined mileage settings and nothing else.No it is not checking the oil quality but it changes with driving habits and temperatures.... its not just a timer like you are suggesting.... oil analysis proves its not pushing the oil change limits
You were most likely doing the ideal driving for oil life length such as highway.... it clearly states in the manual it can change, my 19 it hit 0 at 20,000km which is only about 12.5k miles....I put 462,000 miles on my 2015 Ram.
