engine didn’t regen at all 6k miles

Yep - I imaging that engine malfunctions at altitude are hazardous to your health lol

Curious, how can you enjoy your truck when you are so concerned about the perimeters of the engine? I tow often and have never had any concern that my truck couldn't handle it.

I enjoy my truck just fine & am not "so concerned about its perimeters (sure you meant parameters) that my enjoyment is diminished. I also tow often (though not as often as I'd like) & have never had a concern about what my truck (prior 1500 or current 2500) could/can handle. My comment was trying to illustrate available information concerning temps during regen based upon other's comments. I stand by what I wrote about taking health and maintenance of my vehicles seriously - I like them to last as long as possible. IMO a bit of routine TLC goes a very long way in furthering that.

And I will have to agree - an engine malfunction at altitude could be most hazardous to one's health. Fortunately when in my 2500, I'm flying only a few feet AGL!

When I get a new truck I am completely anal about watching the parameters. They're usually going to be your first indication that something is going wrong.
Knowing what the truck *should* be doing makes it easier to diagnose when it isn't doing that.

Makes sense.
