I have a 2022 6.7 with 79000 on the clock. Started using Archoil about a year ago. Regens have pretty much been on a 24hr schedule as it should. Today I left the house and it went in to regen on the 24hr mark. Drove about 15 miles and it finished. About 3 miles later truck did a sudden surge and message popped up, Exhaust System needs service See Dealer. Noticed from then on when accelerating it would slowly get up to speed, like it was being held back. I change oil & fuel filters every 5000 miles. Buy fuel at a local bulk distributor. Brought it to dealership. called and told me they found black soot in tailpipe the dpf was cracked. Found a code in it for low pressure on fuel rail. He didn't know how long the code has been there. I have owned this truck since 11/2021 and have never seen a check engine light or a stored message and has never been back to the dealership for anything. They wanted to change both fuel filters and dpf filter and desoot it for $3700. I said just because it has soot in tailpipe I need a new dpf filter ? I asked about the low fuel pressure code, said they would look into that after this was done first. And of course my extended warranty does not cover any of this. I went and picked it up. Just wondering if someone else has had this happen.

Is there a question hiding in there somewhere?

Letting people know the year and details of your particular truck is also helpful for getting any possible questions answered that you may or may not have.

If it’s a 2022, they are known to have more DPF/regen issues than the other years, a cracked DPF isn’t out of the question.

You’re likely gonna have to take the truck back to get the DPF replaced, or put the truck on a weight loss program. Neither option is gonna be cheap.

Good luck.

You should see if there is a shop close that either cleans the DPF or re-cores them.
I could be wrong, but I believe that I have read that the units on these trucks are unable to be cleaned.

I’m unsure about re-coring. I’d have to imagine that just getting a new unit would be cheaper than that process?

I have not heard that the DPF from the Rams cant be cleaned, the local place here just dips them in a chemical tank then power washes IIRC. Cost to recore is probably $1500 or so...

What's an OEM new one cost? I was thinking around 5K

Update,
Just picked my truck up from my friends mechanic shop. Did the 0 hp delete and straight piped. The dpf filter was full of thick black soot on the exit end. Said it it shouldn't have that. Something wrong inside. Truck runs so much smoother with a lil more pep. Sounds great too. Deep throaty sound. Heck it even smells like diesel truck should. Glad I don't have to worry bout def and regens. Thanks for all your suggestions.

So no added HP just eliminated all the Emissions programming? What did that cost if you don't mind, and where do you live.

So you did the non ecm swap out delete. Keep us updated on how your truck is behaving. Have heard lots of horror stories about the zero swap tunes. Do you know where the tune came from?
I am also curious where you reside.
