Just curious with modern paint durability, does anybody wax the old fashioned way anymore?? I just wipe my vehicles down with a spray wax occasionally after a wash anymore.

About 4 times a year, makes it easier to release the grime that I collect on a daily basis. See picture to the left....

Every 3 months i use the turtle wax seal and shine it just makes the paint hydrophobic less cleaning on a black truck, its a great idea to ceramic coat.... ever since Oil base paint was banned paint sucks

I don't know about that ever since oil base paint sucks comment lol. I know all my vehicles I've owned that were of the 2000's vintage, the paint has held up great compared to the paint of the 80's-90's that fell off if you looked at it wrong lol

Once a year. Seems to be sufficient for metallic silver paint.

I strongly disagree the new paint is easier to scratch and chips easier also it was 2010 when it was outright banned every vehicle i have had since then the paint sucks my 01 and 05 are in great shape my 2011, 2014, and current 2019 all scratched and chipped easy

Ok, well my last truck was an 05 so maybe I won't be impressed with 2021 paint durability I guess lol. The wife's 2015 Jeep paint has seemed to hold up pretty well though and it sits outside 24/7. I guess time will tell.

Yes I still wax. she just feels like a babies bottom afterwards.. once a year I even clay-bar.. always have with all my vehicles

All my new trucks or family cars get four coats of carnuba wax, Mother’s brand. Then once every three months. Minimizes the spiderwebs Swirls.

I am going to have my truck and wife van coated by the body shop. We had her Mustang done at the Ford dealer before we picked it up. Even Florida love bugs wiped off with a sponge an a water spray bottle. Washes after coating one can see the water cascading down the vehicle.

Those love bugs are the worst. Thankfully I only lived in love bug country for a few years. None up here.

I use the Turtle Wax Seal and Shine.

I use a product called The Last Coat. Better than wax I think.

If you wax, should you wait before you have the truck ceramic coated? Or does the paint correction remove the wax?

I rarely wash my 2008 Mega and the paint shows it. I’m planning to do a light paint correct and ceramic coat on the new one myself when it shows up in about 30 days. The new ceramics are easy enough to apply If you are patient.
