So I’ve always tossed around the idea of deleting my diesels. Obviously warranty is the biggest issue but how reliable is a deleted truck? I know it would be how you drive the truck. I don’t hot rod or anything but I would like to hear this motor rumble and feel the motor’s full potential. Thoughts? Reviews??
 
it's all in who tunes the deleted trucks. I've deleted several over the years and they always run great. we have always used hardway tunes.
 
there was a '16 where the turbo actuator failed after close to 200k miles. other than that, no issues on any of the other deleted trucks I've been involved with. I haven't deleted just yet on my current '19, but have deleted a close friend's '19 and it runs fantastic.
 
Isn't that illegal, do you know what your doing to our children's environment. Haaaaaaa ohhhh cheeeech ;) lol. Some states you have to get annual inspections so something to research for all before you get the hack saw out. But it does make a huuuuuugggeeeeee difference when dialed in

Only illegal if you get caught lol. No inspections in Arkansas. You have experience with reported l deleted trucks?
 
Arkansas, im over here sheltering in hot springs n.p. waiting for my 20 model 3500 HO hd to get railed in
 
Pretty sure Texas has inspections like every 5 yrs, i think
 
State inspections aside, when the feds drop the hammer on the tuner guys one by one, like the D Bros, do you not think they go down their customer list?

tx has yearly inspections with exception of new vehicles, which get a 2yr inspection upon purchase.

safety inspection only on all diesels in tx.
 
Ok, my mom an husband full time like we do an they call texas their residence. He has an older ram 3500 that he deleted but has some how put off the inspections until there back in town, wich will probably be never

Do you think the EPA is going to come after every Tom Dick and Hairy that's on a customer list?

They're after the tuners and shops doing the delete work.
 
I say if you get on the interstate an let all those newly tuned horses eat an black soot has shut down the int. Then they're coming after yah.

I can't find the original article I read about it, but, yes, I believe they will work their way down the chain. I hope not. See "Follow The Paper Trail" in the attached.

Im with yah hasbeen, especially with all the electric vehicles coming out in the next few years, they'll make us stick out like a sore thumb.

If you're rolling coal, I agree, and it's just plain dumb to do so.

The guy in CA is doing pretty clean (soot wise) tunes.

I just read sn saved that article, man that' said it all. The owner can be fined 3750 an ALL sellers an installers (aka, the owner) can also face fibres up to 37,500, holy shiitake. I belief my stock 400 up 1000 ft lbs tq is plenty enough for me

Yah but brother i used to have one you could roll coal with an boy i tel you your better than me if you can stay out of it. I know me an if i got it, im using it. That's why i know for me (cuz im a DA) i need to steer clear of the extra hoarses

@Sawyerd3 This. Unless you're doing the work yourself, you may have a hard time finding someone (who does good work) to even do it for you at all. Hit any of the main diesel forums and you'll see those guys have gone underground and only work with known and former customers. There's a guy up in Canada still doing it out in the open but that's pretty much it.

The Feds crush the installers then call down each customer list to follow up on who's running dirty. Going after every "tom, dick and harry" is literally enforcement's job. I've seen it happen to a friend I knew in NC (and all of his friends; though not diesel related) for stuff they didn't even know was wrong. They'll absolutely hit the folks who are doing it knowingly, just a matter of whether or not your installer gets busted. The recent crack down was relatively wide spread and deep.
