After receiving my truck a month ago I was wiping down the interior and found this pat laying under the driver seat. Does anyone know what it is?

Markings on the underside include "A002" and ">TEEE<"

What would it’s size be compared to? There is a yellow connector under the driver seat. It almost looks like it could be the part you press down on to disconnect the connector.

It is part of the tailgate removal plug kit. It should have been attached to a larger plastic piece when you got the truck. It plugs up the electrical connections when you remove the tail gate.
Interesting, mine never had anything like that in my 2020.

2021 3500, I have my tailgate part and it looks like the pictures jadmt posted.

My guess is that it has to do with manually putting the trans in neutral when you no longer have battery power and need to get a tow to the dealer. There are videos about how to do that.

Whatever you do don't loose it or one day you'll be sorry.

RE: Neutral

The ZF is a pull strap under the panel below the headlight switch. That part *may* be used to release the latch lock.

The AISIN is a push up release button below the column shift lever.

I had this part in my glove box when I picked the truck up from the dealer. I asked what it was, but they did not know.

It could be some sort of alignment tool that comes with a factory part, used to align during install when the truck is built and should be discarded but ends up dropped
Usually yellow like that is indeed something along those lines, i remember in the mid 2000s ford had a piece that whet in the dipstick tube hole on the trans and when they assembled the truck that plug got pushed in to the trans and was left in the pan the first trans i serviced i got a surprise thinking the customer had an issue with the trans lol

I remember those ford trans dip sticks and I hated working on those trans. I had to drop the pan to repair a leak at the wiring bulkhead and needed to refill the trans. You had to have it at operating temp to check the fill level and that fill hole was about an inch from the catalytic converters at least on the 150
