DEF consumption

I pick up my 3500 HO from the dealer Sept 14 with a full tank of diesel (50 US gallons tank) and full DEF. To date Ive done 678 miles. 2 days ago the low fuel light came on at 50 miles or so so I put 25 US gallons in it. I noticed my DEF gauge is just a little below 100 %. Is this normal to have so much DEF left after so many miles ? Is this gauge going to plummet on me at an odd ball rate ?
I have 1300 miles on my 3500 HO and I am barely at 3/4 full on def with very little towing so yours sounds correct to me.

I just did a calculation on my DEF use today. The tank was filled when I took delivery of my 2021 HO in May of this year. I filled the tank today at 11,364 miles. During this period, I have towed a 5th wheel between 2,000 and 2,100 miles. The rest of the driving has been freeway and highway miles. I have used 17-1/2 gallons total. My average DEF usage comes in at 649 mpg to date. I will say that while towing, it did use DEF at a higher rate, but not excessive.

2021 Ram 3500 HO. Picked it up new from the dealer and DEF tank was 3/4 full. Filled tank when it got down to 1/4 with one box of DEF. Now I'm almost back down to a 1/4 tank. With how much I drive it looks like I'll be adding a box about once a month. That doesn't bother me though, because it keeps that urea fresh.

I have done two regens, both while on the highway, in this truck's lifetime.

Truck currently sits with 3600 miles on it. I will say, after adding larger tires, it does use more DEF it seems. That does make sense though - use more fuel... use more DEF.
