Here is some details from my hook up. I bought the Mirror cable jumper from Jimmy07 and it worked great. Then I learned that my new cam only operates on 5 volts (as many do). With some help from John Jensen pointing me towards a 12 volt to 5 volt converter, I sourced one on Amazon. The one I bought was offered with a variety of cable connectors to fit a variety of hardware. I needed the "Right Angle Type C Connector". It was $10 on Amazon, and delivered in one day. The power wires hooded directly to Jimmy's jumper plug, and the C connector right into the dash cam. Hit the ignition to ACC and instant on. Go to OFF, and it shuts down. I am a happy camper. The link for the converter is here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZNSDF4S?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
I mounted the converter in the mirror shroud by putting a velcro square on the back and sticking it to the shroud on the right side in the empty space. The rest of the wires just tucked inside after the bottom half of the shroud was clicked back on. The end of the C connector is about 12" long, and was plenty to plug into the cam which is mounted on the pass side in back of the mirror.
