Crusty's 75th Annv PW #1590 build/mods adventure

So I plugged in the lights this morning while it was still dark out just to see how bright and the spread.
DAMN these things are bright. And they have a nice wide spread on them. They will defiantly light up the area around the back of the truck and the trailer.
So total of 4600 lumens per light at 3 amps draw. So that's 9200 lumens lighting up the area.

I know the bezel says sport but these are the pro lights, so 1500 lumens brighter per light. They only had flush mount bezels for the sports. Seems the flush mounts are a little harder to come by. But SDHQ had some extra bezels stashed. ;)

Just waiting for the new bumper to show up.

Working on my light placement.
Thinking centered on the upper step.
Any comments?

I was looking trying to see if there was anything on the PW that was a sort of unique or distinct element in the rear you could tie them in with in terms of placement, but everything is more inboard, and I don't think that would be super useful. I think from a looks perspective where you have them is roughly where I'd place them, and assuming they have a good amount of flood you should still get some side to side lighting as well, so I'd say "let er rip" (assuming you haven't already!).

Depending on the flood I agree with this.

I have the smaller Baja designs (s2?) under my bumper and I have them aimed outward a bit

I mounted my lights more to the outside almost where your outside vertical tape strips run.

I made a block of wood that was slightly larger than the size of from the back of the flush mount. I used used it to determine the widest possible mounting position.

A jigsaw with a metal cutting blade works great.

Left IMHO, it also limits how much the light is reflected back at you if you’re backing a trailer.

Head lights are wide spaced to spread the light out.

I’ve always wondered why reverse lights were so dim as it is more difficult to backup then go forward.

Well it sounds like you're not gonna get a consensus, but my vote would be left as well. The closer they are together the less value you get from the flood. Plus I think it looks better, imho
