Do you have one?... curious because mine doesn't have a hole in it.

There's a piece that goes over what you pictured... it's almost like Fake News... post several more steps like #23. View attachment 41849
Ramit is talking about the bottom of the box....you are talking about the top.....

Where?....
Look at the picture he posted. There are clearly two holes in the air box, one gets the fancy banks logo and the other one rests on the engine bay. There is no seal on the bottom of the air box, this allows hot engine bay air to enter the intake tract. I'm sure it's a small amount of air entering but for the price you're paying for this kit you think it would be a sealed intake box.

Mine was sealed on the inside once you install the 3 rubber gaskets to reinstall the air box.

The Banks intake box has a hole in the bottom so it is not a sealed intake in any way.View attachment 41833
No one has ever claimed it was “sealed”. The hole in the bottom it mainly blocked by the plate the air box snaps on to also the hole is another area to allow more cold air in. I fail to see your point… if this was a snorkel i could see your point but its not

S&B has a plate on the side of the box you can choose to install or not….

Post pictures. There is a 3"x5"ish hole in the bottom of all of them. Per the "banks engineering team" that was deemed necessary to hit their flow numbers. If I would have knows it had a giant hole in the bottom I wouldn't have bought it. I'm paranoid water will get in it off road.

Yes I did purchase one and it is installed. The bottom of the box is open and as the post above mentioned I am sure it is for flow numbers. The box does not seal on the bottom with the grommets. The hole on the bottom was a surprise to me when purchasing. For those worried about the connection to the front scoop it is a moot point. It is not a sealed system (hole in the bottom), so no "ram air". I appreciate hearing the turbo, but I'm not overly impressed with the piece.

More hype from the glorious Banks team.

Good honest review.. thank you.

Is it only an honest review because it aligns with your thoughts on Banks? Lot of fellas like their intake.....

Maybe you missed the part where it’s not sealed or “Ram air” contrary to how it’s marketed?

Isn’t that the point of “Ram air”? Singular entry to force air down the intake tract.

Maybe it has less to do with “aligning with thoughts” vs being sold a dog that won’t hunt.

The large housing is the “super scoop” as labeled and the “ram air” is the tube to the turbo inlet as labeled so its not a lie its clearly embossed on the product…

Youre smarter than that. Stop defending it already.
