Hey fellas ! Just had banks boost tubes and magnaflow 5-inch installed.
Just wanted everyone to know that there is a considerable difference in spool . It feels way more responsive

Wish I had better pics , but here you go

I already can't believe the difference with the intake and monster ram....did you do the tubes with the ram or after? If you did after there is still that much more difference? Also did it make the turbski more pronounced?

I'm glad it worked out for you but after dealing with their customer service and the middle finger they gave me over their fit and finish I'll never buy anything banks again.

I'll second that, love my Boost tubes and Monster Air Ram. Big improvement. Customer service has been great

My wife thinks I only have 3 guns

You are the first i have ever heard say that perhaps you are part of the issue? Every banks part i have ever bought has been perfect fit and finish never one flaw… except the one stainless muffler that split after 15 years of use in the salt and Canadian winters :D

Yes, wanting their part to fit correctly definitely makes me part of the issue. When you are promised 3 seperate times that their engineering department will contact you and when they finally do they tell you that you installed the part wrong I don't consider that good customer service. Also why is it that nothing under a 4 star review makes it onto their product reviews?...

IDK how their part cant fit your truck unless you happened to get a part with a defect which i find hard to believe.. any pictures of the “part” that does not fit properly?

How do boost tubes increase spool time? Tubing will have no effect on spooling, not sure how they are marketing this product. A common misconception is shorter tubing will increase spool time but the reality is it doesn't help at all. The best salesman in the world can convince people otherwise aka Gale Banks!!

There's no doubt Banks is a marketing madman. With that being said, i got the 4th gen 4" intake horn with grid heater delete and saw improvements with smoothness and response. Boost tubes are on the list for even more increased response.

Hopefully people smarter than me can explain.

Every time there is always a few who say that. Have you ever had a banks part? They are the best fit and finish part i have ever bought every part i have ever bought was worth the money..

Well first off the Banks pipes are bigger, second the bends are smoother which all = more flow . If you do not understand air flow that is fine but there is no need to bash a company because you cant comprehend the product…Banks hides no data they are pretty open unlike most manufactures there is a reason they have been in the business longer than most Gale Banks is a legend!

They don't increase spool time.....that would be counter productive....

Agree, Sure seems like placebo effect. Spending money on intercooler piping has to be truly selling ice to an Eskimo.

Mods where you'll notice a performance difference: Larger intercooler? Sure, bigger turbo? yep. Freer flowing exhaust? Definitely.

"smoother" intercooler pipes? NOPE!!!

Bigger pipes…

Ok, that's on me. I meant to say decrease spool time, which they WONT. The only thing that will decrease spool time are engine displacement/compression and actual turbo size.

Some folks in this thread need to read up on "turbo lag" vs. "spool time".... two separate things. While these pipes will decrease turbo lag in big turbo applications you will notice little to no improvement on a stock turbo that makes boost almost instantly.

I guess you have to have owned Banks products to post, I have owned them. Their fit and finish is good but results on modern diesels are far fetched in my opinion..... Just my opinion.... Stay calm my Banks worshippers.

The whole point of calling something ram air is it is supposed to actually get air rammed into it, not have all of that air go into the engine bay. It's petty sure, but when you have the most expensive cold air intake on the market it better have a better fit and finish than the s&b that is almost $100 cheaper. The s&b uses the factory clips to connect it to the factory scoop. The banks system you just shove it in there and hope for the best. I've seen some that fit better and some that fit worse. Also you can't say Banks doesn't hide anything when they post zero negative reviews on their website.

That is kinda sucky i guess banks dropped the ball on that one

The Banks intake box has a hole in the bottom so it is not a sealed intake in any way.Screenshot_20220730-160459_Chrome.jpg
