Has anyone upgraded to the banks monster ram intake on a 2022 yet ? Was the install any trouble and did it throw an engine light ?
If you have did you upgrade the intercooler tubs as well ?

Thanks

I did mine a while back. Install wasn't bad, but I am a mechanic. Just depends on your skill/comfort level. No CEL with the intake. I didn't so the tubes since they weren't available when I got the intake. There are a few others that have installed them on the 2022's also.

Install is not hard. Save yourself a headache and make sure to label what fuel line goes where if you do the grid heater delete. Make sure to have a day to do it so you can take your time and go slow.

Boost tubes are next on the list...

Im considering just doing the banks cold air intake and monster exhaust system. I feel like I should probably wait until I am able to do the def delete before I upgrade the ram intake and boost tubes. Then I feel like if I’m gonna open up the air in with cold air intake I should go ahead and get the ram intake. I can’t afford to all at once and I want to get the most added fuel efficiency possible. What order should I upgrade? I still have a couple years of warranty left.

Did it in my 14 not bad took a week to do it because I broke the crank case oil returns and then the dealer sold me defectively manufactured replacement parts so I spent time waiting. Wasn’t really hard outside of the position your in doing it. Wobbles, crows feet, and extensions are your friends. If you go slow you can have it done in one weekend. Don’t forget to torque things down correctly and DONT take #6 rail off the back of the block. Ask me how I know! It’s a PITA to get it back on.

One word of advice if your going to start replacing air intake, exhaust, boost tubes and so on your will see return on your investments there when you start making much more power. At that point you will want to do head-studs as well. I heard guys say if your not going to be making over 500 HP your throwing money away. Not sure how what your goals are, just something to consider. The only reason I did the monster ram is to get rid of the grid heater.

I did the big ass air filter system and the ram air intake on my 2020 larmie, haven't ran a tanke thru it yet with the new install. the mpg on the truck seems to be a mpg better in town driving. waiting to get on the road and pull my fifth wheel. purchased to get rid of the grid heater. Looks nice and the equipment is quality stuff. nice design but not sure if I will recoop the costs. Knowing the grid heater won't stop us on trips is worth the costs..

if you're doing the plenum be sire to label the fuel lines. you don't have to take #6 all the way off.

You can install it without the boost tubes no problem and were I to do it again I'd probably use the AFE boost tubes :

The banks tubes are a bit of a pain in the ass to make clear everything and IMO the only reason to replace them is the plastic cold side tube. I have no CEL's with the S&B Airbox, Banks Boost Tubes, and the Monster Ram unless I turn the EZX up past 3 then I throw the EGR codes like folks get with the Banks CAI (Been there done that).

my 2020 gets monster intake , pedal monster and turbo diff cover tomorrow. We pull a 30 ft trailer and avg 14 mpg. Without trailer i get 18mpg. Sure beats my ram/hemi combo it got 4-5 towing 17 avg

Does this system void your warranty? New to rams , had fords in the past and dropped the crap off them but dealer did not complain when I had warranty work done

quit the difference from stock to now. with the 3 mods my truck is getting better mpg by +3 and the boost gauge shows more psi sooner and runs very nice. i approve. does not void warranty
HO or SO ? On my SO I see some mildly better performance and a touch better MPG HWY, but not by that much. I do agree it seems to spool just a touch quicker though which is appreciated. I will say that when I play with the EZX by turning it up to 4 or 5 the truck does pull nice and EGT's stay low which I attribrute to having airflow capacity overhead. Once I either see tuning become less troublesome or they finally drop the recall for non C&C '22's to get the missing DPF sensor, I can't wait to see how she does tuned.

does not void warranty

To clarify, nothing ever voids your warranty per the Magnusun Moss Act. The issue is fighting the dealership over it, and I guarantee Ram is willing to spend more money on law suits than the average consumer is.

If you have an engine related issue they will try to deny the claim, and pointing it the aftermarket intake is easy. It’s then your responsibility to fight them over it. They don’t have to prove it wasn’t caused by the modification until you pony up enough money to see them in court, which will likely be more expensive than just paying for the fix out of pocket. Even then they will likely generate a very good argument.

At the end of the day it absolutely doesn’t void any warranty, but it may cost you excessively to prove that. Is that worth it?

I’m highly interested in the Banks intake, but not until after my warranty expires. To me, it’s not worth the potential fight… even if the mod greatly reduces the risk of failure.
