I currently have a Sidewinder on my trailer, using a Reese M5 20K hitch, although next time, I probably would get the Companion hitch as they are better quality. It works great, don't have to worry when backing into my driveway, which is a sharp turn and uphill.
I have the RAM puck setup on the Reese hitch. You can not use a gooseneck setup with the Sidewinder due to twisting forces. One thing you can do with the Sidewinder, is using two bolts (that come with it), you can lock the Sidewinder from moving, and use it as a normal pinbox.
Hookup isn't that bad. How many times are you unhooking without being straight or close to it.
