Wiring might be there, but if it isn’t, it is simple to add. The only way to know for sure is to pull the panel on the passenger side of the glovebox and look at the wires going into both halves of this connector-Anyone add an auto dim rear view mirror? I heard there may be wiring up in the console for it and you can activate it with alfaobd but don’t know if anyone who tried it.
The closest you can probably get is to swap in the auto dim glass for the driver side tow mirror from a 2015-2018 ram HD. There was never such a thing as a passenger side auto dim tow mirror on a ram, and there’s no aftermarket solution that I know of, either. Keep in mind that the pre-2019 mirror glass won’t have the blind spot indicator.Related question -- Anyone have info on an auto-dimming solution for the side view mirrors? Probably one of my biggest issues with the truck...
You probably don’t have the jumper harness half plugged into the xy340a connector because you don’t have cab lights and have a standard mirror. The rain sensor, auto dim, and auto high beams all run off of the same three circuits on that connector- pin 8 fused ignition, pin 15 Lin bus, and pin 16 ground. For this harness, it will be much more feasible, and cheaper, to just buy the correct mirror jumper harness that plugs into xy340a. The female xy340 connector is Yazaki, and the mirror connector is sumitomo, both of which you need to buy at least 10 of from suppliers, and the terminals are usually 100 minimum order quantities. You need the correct windshield to mount the rain sensor, since it has the bracket and sensor window in the windshield frit. You *could* mount it under the standard windshield frit towards the passenger side of the mirror, but it will look clunky, and you’d have to find some type of plastic cover for it.I have a 2019 2500 bighorn and am looking to add auto dimming rear view with beam sense and window humidity sensor. The XY340A connector is present behind the left side dash panel and pinned per the drawing above, however there is not a harness plugged into it. The circuit numbers also match the Sensor-Humidity Rain Light connector. Haven't found a separate connector listed for the bean sense so guessing it's fed from the rear view mirror connector. I can make the harness easy enough but need help form someone to identify the required connector part numbers.
HD Rams don’t use a humidity sensor for ATC because they use a fixed displacement compressor. Only the 1500s use the humidity sensor because they have a variable displacement compressor. You have to pull the dash and plenum box/ front ducts to get the 4 in-duct sensors installed. Is the hole in the frit needed if I just want to use the humidity sensor for the ATC. I have read in another forum that humidity sensor was necessary to keep the ac compressor from running continuous but was on a 4th gen. Also found an Infotainment video showing installation of the cabin temp sensor and replacing the sun sensor to get ATC working with their radio swap but they didn't mention the humidity sensor. Really just trying to get ATC working more or less correctly on a factory MTC truck and with no delusion that I will ever attempt to swap out the heater box to get the dual zone working. I did find where there are four other temp sensor coming off the C1 connector on the HVAC Module but haven't found anything showing them or where they are physically located. Appreciate the advice on the harness, figure if I'm going to mess with the headliner might as well at least wire it for the mirror while I'm at it.
ATC sun sensor- 68230114ABSo humidity sensor is pointless, mirror is just sourcing a harness, mirror and associated trim pieces and the duct sensors will have to wait until the heater core has to be replaced years from now. I may try adding the cabin temp sensor from the Infotainment video, the parts are relatively cheap and looks like a fairly small risk of frying anything wiring it up so not a lot to loose. I spent several afternoons searching in the 4th, 5th and HD forums trying to figure this out so I'm very grateful you took the time to help.
This is an easy one. All you need to do is verify the wiring in post #3, buy the mirror, get the appropriate mirror jumper harness (if needed), and enable it with AlfaOBD. Might as well look for a mirror with the auto high beam camera, also, and enable that too.I’ll revive this post.
I have a 2020 Tradesman and I’d like to ad the auto dim rearview mirror.
Has anybody successfully installed one where it wasn’t original?
My truck has the cab marker lights.
I was digging up on the passenger side the other day for the footwell light connector and came across the plug for the mirror/cab lights. Just pull the glovebox and look in the rear upper right area. That's the best I can do to help. I have a Tradesman as well.I’ll revive this post.

This ^Add some window tint and you'll never see it activate. I have 15% all the way around and mine never dims because it never thinks it's bright enough. Same thing happened on my 2013 Corvette.
Cheaper than adding the mirror and looks good. Plus, privacy and UV blocking so your interior doesn't fade out.
It's a mandatory first mod in Arizona.
It’s really not too pricey, and an easy add-on. You can keep an eye out on car-part for one out of a wreck. I believe there’s an auto dim/auto high beam mirror on car-part right now for $35.Thank you both for the pointers. I will get to this as soon as it warms up.
Question: does anyone have a part number for the auto dim mirror or has a VIN of a truck that comes with one?
YesDoes the auto dim/beam sense rearview mirror use the same windshield mount as the standard manual mirror?
